AMD gets a little too aggressive with their graphics card advertising, and by a little I mean holy s

I did back when graphics cards were a pcb with a small aluminum block on it.
Of course that's over a decade ago.
How is it that bad on Windows? On Linux even using the terminal to install the drivers is simple.
$ ./amd-catalyst-version.number-linux-x86.x86_64.run
and restart, done.
The driver is a bit rubbish but installing it couldn't be easier.
Pff, speak for yourself.
It's a PITA to get it working with both cores of a 4870x2 and a 5750 in a multi monitor set-up
It's JUST manageable on windows.

Oh well I don't have anything that exotic. I've noticed it doesn't seem to work properly with more than 2 displays which is a pain.
I had an ATI card and I just downloaded their driver and installed it. What's the problem?

I think most of those jokes are dated. Like with the Nvidia burning your house down joke. Some of their older cards may have done that along with ATI's no driver issues, but have since been cleared up with their newer cards.
Yeah my ATI 5870 is an absolute bitch to update the drivers one. I think the newer ones are quite a bit simpler.
Of course there's also a malfunction with my laptop where I can't update the drivers past an early 2011 version without it blue screening and fucking up everything (luckily every game I've ever tried has worked fine that way)

I do for mine.
Since lifting the weight of an elephant just to pop two cards in is not worth it.

It isn't bad on Windows, the drivers in more recent years have been much better.
I got my first ATI card in 2009 and havent looked back, and when I got it there the driver installation was run the .exe, let it install and restart. The same applies for when I update it now, also.
Nvidia beats amd in any way possible, Nvidia = top dogs of the graphics industry Amd = Pieces of shits who don't know how to make a graphics card commercial
The only AIT card I ever had caught fire. Nvidia ever since.
Looks like Freeman's settled down in the 6 years between his new game.
I love how everyone takes this video seriously.

Yeah, and I have an Nvidia card and it idles around 23C. It's just a reason to make fun of it.
This doesn't make me want to buy one of their cards just to get the benefit of physx for hair.
I tried to update my AMD drivers for my laptop once, and it blue screened on me :(

They basically perform on the same level, and with AMD being much cheaper, it's not hard to see why someone would choose them.
ATI/AMD stuff used to have a lot of games with issues specific to their products, but I've seen MUCH less of that in the past couple of years.
I used to say that I would definitely go with Nvidia next, but they've been eliminating all the problems I had with them lately.
AM-what now?
Glad I have AMD.
been ATi since 08' and never had one issue with there drivers that was the game developers fault for wurm online. It's since been corrected and any other issues with games I've never had.
Don't get the fuss.

Just healthy competition.

I just think the acting and stuff was horrible. Fells like watching a hobby project by some students that have no idea what gaming is, because hell the turned off PC really bothered me, too.
What's that song?
why was it not set to this song

haven't used ATi since 2011, never had a problem actually installing their drivers but their control centre was a bitch to use
has it improved since then?
I liked it.
Went from am AMD card to an nVidia card, best decision I ever made.
Still, the advert was a bit intense and over the top. Doesn't make me want to buy an AMD card. Chances are, it won't make most people who are in to PC gaming want to buy one, as they would do their research before getting it.

What a well-thought out opinion.
You should research a bit before you say something like this. Both companies basically do the same stuff.
that was fuckin hilarious
The only nVidia card i had any issues with was a GTX460 i once bought second hand. It worked fine untill about 4 months down the line when it started to go apeshit then died. On closer examination it appeared to have old jam stuck to it...

Don't you know? Jam is standard for graphics cards. Eventually bugs eat them and that is how they fail.
"AMD is the graphics choice for gamers on PC and consoles."
Heh. Like console gamers have a choice.
