Getting all industrial up here
I was hoping they were going to resurrect a Concorde and do a flyover like rumoured :(
Rowan Atkinson was amazing, i loved him.
Btw, who carried the United Kingdom flag when they came in? I just fell asleep before it i wanted to see it. :v:
McCartney was fantastic, he still has a great voice even though he's 70.
Sir Steven Redgrave ran the torch in and Chris Hoy walked the flag
Not sure if this is posted in the thread or not, but this was the BBC's fantastic trailer for the games.

I know some Americans who came to my school on an exchange and on Facebook I saw a few of them post about why Abraham Lincoln was at the opening ceremony. Seriously.

The choreography was pretty damn ace.
That was amazing.
I can honestly say I was impressed by the ceremony. It mde me proud to be British.
Where were Muse? I was looking forward to that, damn it.
I watched the whole thing in 3D on the BBC HD channel, I've been blown away by the experience. That was fucking incredible.
..The arctic monkeys was a bit of a letdown though, was expecting Muse..
I want to see Rowan's act again!
Did anyone else hear the tardis from doctor who during the ceremony?
The opening ceremony was very good, few groans about the length it took for all the teams to get into the stadium but very good otherwise. Well done Britain.
I came in expecting something shit, I came out slightly patriotic. The ironworks were bloody amazing.

Best bit if I'm honest, I really didn't like the rest of it.

Which one was the one played during that industrial part?
By the way, it's just airing in America (19:40 US Central Time). Voldemort got his ass beat by Mary Poppins.
Man, i was expecting something ok, but wow, that really blew me away, I feel patriotic for once!
[sp]Oh god my head hurts from watching that in 3d[/sp]
no one will ever surpass the Beijing 2008 opening ceremony
