I was hoping they'd do some stagecraft wizardry and make the TARDIS somehow fade in and Matt Smith to walk out
After the industrial revolution bit the ceremony became lame as fuck. Can't blame em thou, China set the bar sky fuckin high.
I have to admit that, while not hugely dissapointed, the lack of Dr Who did surprise me.
That said, you can only fit so much in.

Youth culture is a big thing in the UK. If that's a bad or good thing is up to you. As the commentators pointed out here in the UK, we were the birthplace of grime.
The bit at the start where England was pretty and then that guy went all Saruman on it. It made me sad.

If they did something like that in the US, it would just look forced, honestly. I didn't know there was as much of a difference between the two. I guess social media would be more important there because of such a small landmass and the entire Blackberry messenger thing.

I did enjoy the arab men outside the stadium being filmed before they entered. They seemed the most enthusiastic out of all of them.
i bet it feels amazing(Or terrible depending how much you want attention) being from a country with 2-3 athletes.
