Holy crap. And Silver for his training partner from the US.
He is so happy
He deserved that so much :)
wow a white man got second place in long distance running, that's intense.
It's like Team GB woke up yesterday and realised the olympics was going on and has been excelling ever since.
3 golds in a day... in athletics. I was not expecting anything tbh.
Gold for Jamaican Shelly-Anne Fraser-Pryce.
At the moment team GB is holding off pretty well against Korea in Football too. [editline]4th August 2012[/editline] Penalties. We're fucked.
And we're out.
you'd think for the country who invented the sport, that they'd excel in something like Football. Turns out we're shit.
you'd think for the country who invented the sport, that they'd excel in something like Football. Turns out we're shit.
I just don't get how they can get payed > ~£800,000 a year and not be able to do anything.
you'd think for the country who invented the sport, that they'd excel in something like Football. Turns out we're shit.
I'm not surprised any more considering the way we treat football more like a reality TV show in this country.
we fucking zerg rushed that penalty
I just don't get how they can get payed > ~£800,000 a year and not be able to do anything.
I sadly agree, their performance deteriorated as the matches got harder which is logical but this time everything went wrong and that should not be possible for Olympic footballers. They seemed to be afraid to pass it to each other and when they did none of them could keep the ball for more than two seconds or follow any sort of strategy. If this wasn't bad enough we all saw that they were very lucky and had two penalties but then managed to fuck one up. The match could have easily ended in 90 mins.
Wanted to see Mo get his medal :( will that ceremony be tomorrow or wasnt it aired
Go China!
Medal events are done for the day. Medal Count Tomorrows Events:
China has one gold per roughly 50m people, USA one gold per 12m and the UK one gold per 4.5 million.
I love how the UK has leapfrogged up in the past few days, go team GB
I don't know if this has been asked yet, or if it's even a possibility, but can I watch an unbiased coverage of the Olympics online? I hate NBC, and CTV isn't live, and I'm not sure if it's biased for the Canadians as much as NBC is for Americans.
I was watching a cycling event today that was basically a knockout, whoever was last in the lap left the race, and one guy didn't leave the first time he was called out. How is this allowed?

I'm kinda sad that wrestling probably won't be covered as much as any other sport. It's kind of a shame seeing as it was one of the original Olympic sports and how awesome it just is.
No, France is beating us in total medals! Come on Germany!
God damnit Canada sucks at summer sports. I remember the winter olympics in 2010 in Vancouver and Canada got the most medals (or gold metals or some shit) and here we only got 1 so far.
Today Federer vs Murray, who will take the gold and who will be slapped with the silver?
