Daww I'm actually quite sad :( We've done a surprisingly good job, and I found myself getting quite into the sporting events. Is sad to see it over now. Also there they are ;)
It is weird, I am sure for most of the people on here from the UK the build up has covered a large portion of their life. Its some ~8 years of build up and preparation. Maybe I have just noticed it so much because I'm in an area that gets BBC London (and in an area that held a cycling event actually) and I have heard nothing but it for the past 8 years. It is kinda sad to see it go, makes me feel old.
Roger can still do it. Not a bad voice for a 68-year old dammit, ninja'd
This is really sad :( We'll probably never see an event like this in our country again in our lives. RIP London Olympic games 2012.
It was, what, sixty years since the last time? With the reduction of countries with the cash to host the games, I wouldn't expect it be any longer.
Guess who just came on.
mother FUCK
This is really sad :( We'll probably never see an event like this in our country again in our lives. But yeah, nothing on the scale of the Olympics.

This Olympic will always have a special place in my heart.
Man, now I have to wait four years to see anything like this again And unlike the Beijing games, this actually had a heart

Now I'm about to head to University having just watched the ending of a great olympics. The olympic torch even came to my town which was p.cool :v:.
Hey don't forget the winter Olympics in two years!
The Winter Olympics feels like filler for me...
Loved every minute of that closing ceremony, that phoenix was rad.
Man, now I have to wait four years to see anything like this again And unlike the Beijing games, this actually had a heart
What the fuck are you going to expect to see in Rio? Enrique Iglesias and Shakira?

Damn it bruce you let me down big time. Im still calling for a national day of mourning when he crocks it. All im saying is good luck Rio.
What the fuck are you going to expect to see in Rio? Enrique Iglesias and Shakira?
Talking about the whole event, not the ceremonies
Best Olympic games I have ever had the pleasure to watch in my time on this earth.
Got really confused why the greek anthem was played, then after my sperg moment passed I realised it was the olympics.
Rio have a big job on their hands to beat London in terms of the ceremonies. I really doubt they will struggle though.
As a resident of london i'm gonna be sad to see the games leave, we did a bang up job of it in the end. Iv'e been lucky enough to attend a few open events and see the games first hand, it's such a crying shame that come tomorrow the 'legacy' will most likely be all but forgotten. But for tonight at least the UK can be proud of what we managed to do.

I think the thing I take away from this Olympics I didn't get at Beijing is the home crowd in Britain is just brilliant. So loud and cheering on everyone regardless of their country, but really cheering on the British crowd with massive roars. The 10000m and 5000m with mo farah was just amazing, the crowd were astonishing.
