I actually was excited to see it the first time without knowing the entire movie was in that perspective. I was disappointed because I kept expecting it to go out of that perspective at least once.
The whole selling point of the movie was that it was from a handy-cam point of view. How did you not know the entire movie was like that?
I wish the initial movie was done in normal camera angle... and then the sequel was from the handy cam angle.
I want the opposite.
Did anyone catch that sound that plays as "It's still alive" when played backwards at the end of the credits?
Since the Monster in the first is the baby. I want to see what it's parents look like.
Everyone should read the translated Manga. It tells you more about the back story. And there are hints of the second movie scattered across some of the viral websites.

Cloverfield was awesome, can't wait for the sequel.
District 9 style documentary would be so much win.
Unlike any other monster movie, this one had a different perspective. That's what makes it cool. They should make something like Marble Hornets, like a documentary...
look what happened to Blair Witch 2...
I still can't figure out how any organic being in the galaxy could survive a direct hit from a God damn Tactical Nuke?
Didn't the director say something about how you saw another group of poeple with a camera and it'd be another story from their perspective. If they do make another one and if it is in the shaky cam style I would love to see the new characters and the original characters cross paths.
I LOVE when movies/games do the whole cross paths thing. It always gets me.
I still can't figure out how any organic being in the galaxy could survive a direct hit from a God damn Tactical Nuke?
It wasn't a nuke...
Marlena's death in the first one caught me completely off guard. She fucking POPPED.
Since the Monster in the first is the baby. I want to see what it's parents look like.
i think that since the first movie had the baby monster and the 2nd monster is the mother or father they are gonna be way much bigger
I want a Cloverfield sequel. The first one was "decent"...not the best but one might say it's decent.. I'm not craving for a sequel like OP, but it would be kinda cool to make another one.
I would love for a second, the first had great storyline, good unsolved questions too.
i remember reading something about it like a few months after the first one came out. jj abrams said it "would be like nothing youve ever seen" what does that mean? who knows. i think itll be from the monster's perspective.
I haven't even seen the first Cloverfield. :frown:
I haven't even seen the first Cloverfield. :frown:
you should, its pretty good
It wasn't a nuke...
What then? What else "Hammerdown" could mean? They couldn't kill it by regular bombs, hell, they even called an motherfucking B-2 Stealthbomber strike on it.
What then? What else "Hammerdown" could mean? They couldn't kill it by regular bombs, hell, they even called an motherfucking B-2 Stealthbomber strike on it.
I can't remember what it was, but it wasn't a nuke
What then? What else "Hammerdown" could mean? They couldn't kill it by regular bombs, hell, they even called an motherfucking B-2 Stealthbomber strike on it.
a bigger bomb, duh. and who knows? maybe they didnt kill it. you never really get to know
a bigger bomb, duh. and who knows? maybe they didnt kill it. you never really get to know
JJ Abrams said that the bomb at the end of the film doesn't kill it, but the military do eventually defeat it
They shouldn't make it
This.
the only info on cloverfield 2 is that they can't make up their minds on whether or not to do it [editline]12:20PM[/editline]
What then? What else "Hammerdown" could mean? Didn't like Cloverfield too much but by God do I want to know how it all ends
the only info on cloverfield 2 is that they can't make up their minds on whether or not to do it [editline]12:20PM[/editline] it was just a bunch of bombs really. and at the end of the movie a soundbite saying "it's still alive" is played backward
My thought that it was tactical nuke (ICBM would have been a quick flash before the camera, and the 2 guys hiding in the tunnel, vaporizes), "Big Boy" or an Fuel Rod Bomb. Where did you get your info?
Really? another? cool.
