That used to direct to the movie site.
well i guess it's just the fact i fell asleep, maybe i'll watch it again just for you.
aw thank you :haw:
Ehhh I'm really not liking the sound of it being the same story with a different perspective. I mean c'mon, you can't really do that with monsters.
I want to see something new. It can still be in NYC, and even still be in the same POV, but I don't want it to be the same monster. I want to see something crazier and different.
I mean think about it, would the(I know some of you really hate it, but I'm using it as an example - one that is quite good) SAW series be successful if they kept using the same "traps" and just had different people and whatnot? I would think fuck no. So why would Cloverfield 2 be good if it was the same story/monster with a different perspective or something? I mean, yeah, it'd be nice to have questions from Cloverfield answered, but I think they can still answer them through a new experience. I bet the first thing that comes to mind with that is flashbacks and how having flashbacks would fuck it up because it wouldn't make sense to have that on a tape. But I think that they can still answer questions through showing progression of things so that things get mentioned. <Sorry if that sound retarded but I can't think of a better way to word it....
I still can't figure out how any organic being in the galaxy could survive a direct hit from a God damn Tactical Nuke?
It wasn't a nuke, and it's dead.
no sir
it was a tagruato satellite ChimpanzIII sooo
the ARG for this movie was brilliant
oh ok
well even so, it's still to be told if it has anything to do with what happens in Cloverfield

P. sure it's dead but okay.
and yet it isn't :allears:
If this is yet another fucking god damn trilogy I will impale someone.
We are drowning in trilogies already, just leave it at one good movie ffs. (Although I haven't seen Cloverfield so I wouldn't know if it's actually good.)
Even if they killed it there's more of them, that one was just a baby.
There's plenty of material for a sequel.
What would be cool if the sequel was filmed from a National Guard Soldier's perspective. That'd be badass. Nonstop of massive shootings, explosions, and combat. Oh yeah
I don't know why everyone is bitching.
I, for one, LOVED the whole handy cam thing, and I think the whole movie was BRILLIANT.

Watch the movie, RIGHT NOW.
GO GO GO
and yet it isn't :allears:
i thought jj abrams said the military eventually does kill it
of course, but that doesn't mean it happens at the end of the movie
ITT people who don't like Cloverfield are fucking stupid. It is great because it was both awesome and innovative.
Cloverfield was okay.
I cheered when Hud finally got killed, annoying motherfucker.
We need more giant monster movies damn it.
Yeah, but if Clover WAS at the bottom of the ocean, and it WAS a satellite dropping from the sky like I said earlier, then I read a while back (during the viral marketing period of cloverfield 1) That something "disrupted" the monster in its sleep.
I believe it will be just like the Invasion movie.
A space object hits the ground, some sort of substance got onto a whale/fish/shark/crab/lobster and caused it to mutate and grow extremely rapidly.
Also, a B-2 dropped several 500 Pound bombs on the monster. (The monster's name IS NOT CLOVERFIELD DAMNIT) Which only made it spore smaller creatures. The only way to wipe everything out completely would be a nuclear bomb.
Take note, as stated above, the monster is not named Cloverfield - The project is named Cloverfield - I would believe that they named the project Cloverfield because the bombs dropped destroyed the entire city and a clover field grew over it. This would be a typical movie ending. Also its believed that this video/project was being viewed in the near future in an attempt to find a way to kill the beast.
The only thing I say was rather terrible about it, was the motion sickness I ended up with after watching a camera shake violently, unable to see anything, and the overall darkness in the movie.
Also I loved how the Helicopter crashed, the two helicopter pilots and other military personnel in the vehicle die (Who have Kevlar and Helmets on) but they two main characters survive.
I want this to be filmed in Europe next time though, so all of the faggots are wiped out.
how bout we dont worry bout how the monster died or who or what woke it up or whatever.
i actually never got a chance to see the first one but i heard it was pretty good.
Clover is a natural creature, J.J. said that the species can live for thousands of years, it feeds off the plant that Slusho! is made out of.
Anyone ever read Cloverfield/Kishin? It shows a distorted version of where the creature originates.

I loved cloverfield, saw the first midnight showing in 2008.

seabed's nectar anyone? :3:
I liked the first one. But only because it was totally unique to me. if they did another handy cam one, I dont think i'd go see it.
They left an open end in Cloverfield, but still, If there was a Cloverfield 2 as a sequel it might have problems with ideas of where the movie goes. Could be boring.
I'll keep my eyes open for a number 2 all the same
In September 2008, when asked by CraveOnline what the current status is on Cloverfield 2,[71] Abrams stated that at this point, they are still discussing it; however, he still feels reluctant to work on a sequel.
Did you not read the whole thing?
In January 2010, J.J Abrams confirmed that a sequel is 'in development'.
That was underneath what you just quoted.
Also. What is that dead thing? Is it the monster?
The chances of a Cloverfield 2 are low. I've been following it for a while and it's p much dead. Unfortunately. The first is still my favorite movie.
If they were to do it though, I wouldn't mind a pov from soldiers or a prequel.

Reasoning behind this:
The nectar harvested from the undersea plants that the creature and in turn its parasites feed off causes this, or so it seems. Slusho! (a shirt of which I am wearing currently) harvests this nectar to create their delicious soft drinks. On their site, it mentions someone who drank the nectar/Slusho! too much, and grew really huge. It seems that the nectar causes rapid expansion, likely due to some reaction and differences in pressure between the ocean and the surface. The dead parasite in the bio-tube thing that was wheeled by in the military outpost has a yellow substance- nectar, likely- on its mouth, suggesting that perhaps the nectar is prevalent in their system or as a venom.
Basically, drink too much nectar/get bit and too much nectar is injected>chemical reaction with body>humans not used to pressure>massive pressure release>pop!
Does it scientifically make sense? Not quite.
Is this definitely the reasoning? No.
Can it at least push away your disbelief enough so that you can enjoy it? Ya.
So tah dah.

I always thought it was a whale or something that it fed on.
But I remember in some interview, someone (can't remember who) said something like 'As you might've seen on 1-18-08.com it does eventually get killed'
What i didn't understand about the first one is why he went all ninja in the final scene.
What i didn't understand about the first one is why he went all ninja in the final scene.
Err, the monster?..I mean after being shot with a couple missiles every once and a while and there's smoke everywhere, and you see a black thing floating around in the sky why not attack in, considering that's where the source of the missiles came from, the sky?
As for Detective P , your explanation for everything is spot on.
