This EXACT Same situation happened to me, i just gave it to someone i trusted, told them why, and try to forget it. What you could do is give it to the owner and tell them your friend took it and your trying to be a good guy

Its not a big deal just turn it in to the office, most of them won't ask questions anyway when it comes to returning stolen property. And if they do just say you found it on top of a locker or something

This is a semi decent idea, except for the last line. If your parents ask say you found it like that in a bush at school or that someone sold it to you for $20/30. If you do do the last line and your parents find out they will have no suspicions due to it not being something you are into most likely.
