Ugh, I hate that, we have split seasons. It's annoying.
Hey guys, anyone seen the latest Will It Blend? In this one they blend a Dalek...
SERIES!
The only seasons we have in the UK are spring, summer, autumn and winter.
and all in the same day
Don't forget the specials!
Which means technically their is 6 series.
Oh and in my opinion Matt Smith is better.

I think they're too hard to choose between (though, for me, I could choose Matt Smith on looks <3). What strengthens Matt's case for me is the fact that Moffat and co.'s writing is so much more clever and deeper, in my opinion, and Matt reacts to it perfectly. But then, looking back at Tennant's stuff, it took me a while to warm back up to him, but then once I had, there was a sort of quick quirkiness that Matt has yet to capture. /my opinion
David Tennant is too human for me. Compared to Matt who does it beautifully alien.

Don't get me wrong. I love David. But like Matt more.
anyone else have the series 5 soundtrack?
David Tennant is too human for me.
yeah he's rather human-like but not in a bad way
it let's the audience connect with him emotionally better (with happens a fuckload)
Thinking about it, I don't really have a true favourite Doctor between the past three incarnations.
I thought it'd be Matt Smith, but I know that's only because he's new. He's better than past Doctors in some ways, but really they've all got things about them that none of the others can replicate, they're all better than each other in some ways. I loved Christopher Eccleston's sarcasm, David Tennant's oooh-what's-over-there persona, and Matt Smith is excellent with the way it feels like he's just passing through, and has a sort of oh-okay-then-I'll-help-out-I-guess, laid-back attitude towards danger and stuff like that.
David Tennant is too human for me. Compared to Matt who does it beautifully alien.
Oh god this. While I liked David Tennant and all, he seemed too human, Smith, on the other hand, has that akward, weird vibe, which makes him seem more alien.
Although personally I liked Eccleston the best.

I still don't understand this.
Someone explain, I don't watch Harry Hill
Just before the adverts he usually makes a reference to the last clip and maybe a previous one and says "I like [Thing from clip], but I also like [Other thing], but which is better? There's only one way to find out..." then he does that GIF shouting "FIGHT!" and two people dressed as whatever he mentioned run onto the set and roll around on the floor 'fighting'

I was wondering why this thread was suddenly active and why people were discussing episodes again as if there were new...
Americans

...sortof makes me more glad I don't watch it
It just sounds crap when you talk about it.
anyone else have the series 5 soundtrack?
I want it. My violin teacher has played in some of the older soundtracks for the Silence in the Library episodes and some others. She freelances professionally with the National Orchestra of Wales, and, for my own sad reasons, I've entered for uni with Royal Welsh College of Music just so I can hopefully win a junior place with the orchestra and get involved with moar Doctor Who music. -nerd-

I just got it. It's fucking awesome.
"I Am The Doctor" and "Battle in The Sky" are my favourite tracks.
"I Am The Doctor" is incredible.
Brb listening to it again.

It's weird, because we're only ever 1-2 weeks behind nowadays. There hasn't been a new episode in quite a while.
Does the US get the Christmas Special at the same time as us or do they have to wait a couple of days / weeks until it's aired?
No idea yet

I think the next series of Torchwood will be more popular than Doctor Who.
Practically all the cast is American. Filmed in America. And American shows always get more popular than British shows. Look at Stargate, Star Trek, Lost and Fringe. The fact that it's an American production will win over millions of new viewers.

it will probably have a higher budget than doctor who too which will hopefully allow more filming locations than just bloody wales
Considering it was all filmed in Wales before, it did pretty well for itself.
At least it'll be different.
I think I'd be a little sad if Torchwood ended up more popular than Doctor Who, good as it will no doubt be. Nothing in my eyes beats Doctor Who.
To be honest I'll be very surprised if it's more popular than Doctor Who, but then again to be better than Doctor Who it'd have to be bloody amazing, and I reckon that good TV is nothing to be disappointed about :v:

It's being filmed in America and Wales.

well it's not unheared of for a spinoff to be more popular than its predecessor
see frasier, wikipedia and christianity
But Torchwood lacks (for the most part) a decent form of Time Travel. The historical settings, famous figures and ideas about how the far future could be puts Doctor Who above Torchwood most of the time.
As well as the fact that the best characters are in Doctor Who rather than Torchwood.

but because there's a lack of time travel and space travel it means that the writers have to come up with more creative ways to solve the problem of the week
like deep space 9
