Also Torchwood has the advantage of being an adult drama. Can shove in all the sex and swearing and general stuff that kids wouldn't understand and parents would freak out over their kids seeing xD
speaking of torchwood I never actually got into it
should I?
probably not. i always thought it was doctor who only shit

They did it too much in the first series, and now that Torchwood's been acknowledged in the Doctor Who series the writers have had to tone it down because chances are there's going to be a lot of kids tuning in or recording it, since it's vaguely related to Doctor Who.
I do enjoy Torchwood, but if you look at it they haven't handled it as well as they could have. They should probably have kept the two series separate, when they involved Torchwood in Series 4's finale it seemed like they were telling kids that it was okay to watch it.

Don't bother with the first two series, go straight to Children of Earth.

but I won't know who the characters are
(although I did once read a torchwood spinoff novel, it was the one where ianto gets a magical sex change)
Watch the series', but be warned, they're nothing special for the most part.
I don't get the hate for Torchwood. It's really good, even if it's not as good as Doctor Who.
I never really got into it, but I have nothing against it.
If it was on BBC Three or something I'd watch it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to make time to see it as it's aired.
I'd say go straight to Series 2, it's pretty good overall.
Oh and Children Of Earth is bloody great.
Am I the only one that really wasn't very convinced by Children of Earth and liked the series'?
Some really good episodes came out of the series. The ones with the Pixies, for example, were shit scary, and others like it were good/unsettling, and others were interesting.
I thought Children Of Earth was a bit of a cop-out. They could have 'wiped the slate' in a far better way than they did, and after it had finished, I and half of facebook at the time raged about it. Meh, but that's just me.
The cabinet meeting where they decide to hand over the children to the 456 was single-handedly one of the most chilling scenes I can remember in any episode of a Doctor Who spin off (hell, even compared to the things in Doctor Who).

Oh god this, The 456 are creepy as fuck.
Also the scene when they were running away from the soldiers was quite distressing for some reason.

Oh man, when I realised what the 456 were using the kids for... Brrr
I wanna watch the whole series again now :v:

mr anderson
he's looking so much older now :(
I think the only episodes of Torchwood I watched were Cyberwoman and Out of Time
Silence in the Library was awesome.
Nearly every species has an irrational fear of the dark.
But the thing is, it's rational.
Yuss, that was so creepy... and, you've finally met River :D
River Song is awesome.
[sp]We find out who she is in part 2 of Series 6 :D[/sp]
[sp]She also appears in the first 2 episodes of part 1 of series 6, so it's a very River series[/sp]

Must say I really do like the look of the next series, the first 3 episodes are already great, 4 will probably be good or average, 5 and 6 are finale episodes so they're bound to be good. Half a series done, and it's already brilliant.
Hype Machine.
BBC America seems to be airing the same 3 or 4 Eccleston episodes over and over again.
Christmas Special is officially titled "A Christmas Carol"
No real surprise.
Bit shit, but alright.
FOR GREAT RELEVANCE! (To my last post.)

Gosh, I can't wait for the next album :D :D
holy god I have like 45 gigabytes of who-related stuff on my hard drive
I only really like an awful lot of running and blink by them :/
Journeys End is alright.
Really? I love Exterminate Regenerate. And, if you've been paying attention to Charlie and Alex's Youtube pages, they previewed a couple of new ones that look suitably awesome. I *love* Big Bang 2 :)
Also Dan, how come you know so much about the next series?
