I'm the captain? Sweet. I feel like Gary Barlow or a blood thirsty pirate.
Or both.
A blood-lusting Gary Barlow

Jeez I leave the thread for a few hours and it's a conspiracy!
Anyways, watched "The Beast Below" which has pretty decent but.... spacewhales? Really?
Also, I realized Moffat has written both of the Smith episodes I watched so far... I wonder why they're so good, fresh, and not RTD-ish.
And, soon to be onto "Victory of the Daleks" Churchill and Daleks, what could go wrong?

Lets not make this a witch hunt.
I get all the girls with my WAR OF THE WORLDS MUSICAL SOUNDTRACK.
And my RAGE FUELLED tweets about TELEVISION!
I wonder if he ever mentioned us in his twitter :v:

Good question.
Terrible answer.

Nope. Just pleaded for attention, friends and decent television. He told Charlie Brooker shit that he wouldn't care about.
The only positive thing was "Good episode of Doctor Who"

he has a minifridge full of irn-bru and mars bars as I recall
Brilliant :v:
Now I wish he wasn't banned so I could laugh at him
There needs to be more Fallout references.
11% of all of my posts have been in doctor who threads
7.6% of mine are in this one alone
I haven't checked tbh

Oh, I found some information about the Christmas special, though I'll prolly be late.

If you don't want to click (don't know how lazy you are, but I know half the time I can't be arsed with links), I'll quote the interesting bit:
Smith said that the episode will focus on the Doctor's own experience with the festivities, as he interacts with humans getting into the holiday spirit and being more open and giving.
It's also starring Michael Gambon (Dumbledore) and Katherine Jenkins.
Sounds like it's going to be a good one.
Michael Gambon (Dumbledore)
oh god please let him be santa
I'm actually pessimistic. Basing a Doctor Who story on Christmas Carol is a weak move in my opinion. The only Christmas Carol story I can watch 1000 times is the muppet version or the Patrick Stewart version. I watch those two every year. I can't prepare for 3 lots of christmas carol in one month. I've got to watch the Jim Carey one too. And I'll probably end up seeing the musical version and reading the book. Too much.
Yeah, I really get into Christmas.
N'aww :3:
Although I partially agree, it seems like a bit of a cop-out. All the other episodes have essentially been Doctor Who episodes with christmas as a sort of side-plot, but this one sounds like it might be going over the top a bit. The thing about the past Doctor Who Christmas Specials have been that they haven't gone too In Your Face about the whole Christmas thing. There's snow and a couple of decorations, and some characters will mention it, but that's about it. I think that RTD got it right that viewers might get a bit bored by the whole thing if it's the only thing they're watching on TV.
And I'm starting to lose that feeling of excitement when it comes to Christmas :frown:
Rather liked "Victory of the Daleks". Though, why are upgraded Daleks slighty bigger with spiffy paintjobs?
Eh, whatever.
YEEESSSS! Next episode has Angels and River!
I hope the christmas special doesn't pull an RTD and make Matt go all human and crap
last thing I want is more emotion in doctor who, it's fine at the level it is now

I think it'll go the opposite and emphasise the fact that he's different and sees humans as special because of their caring, giving nature or shit like that
I swear though, Gallifrey Base is the most annoying board ever. When RTD was the lead writer, they all bitched about emotion and the Doctor being human, and wanted Moffat to take over. Now Moffat is in control, they're bitching about not enough emotion and want the Doctor to be more human, and want RTD back.
This is why the writers of Doctor Who no longer read it
I stopped reading it too. When I saw a thread suggesting Doctor Who should have elements of reality shows.
As for emotion in the Christmas special, I want some. It's nice to have a bit. But I don't want it in every episode like we got with David. I swear, they did The Family of Blood and Girl in the Fireplace, realised emotion made them popular, and then did that in every episode of Series 4. Got a legion of new female viewers who just obsess over crying David.

That's just called "getting older".
I don't want to get older :(
Prediction:
17th November 2010 - Dan isn't optimistic about Xmas special
19th November 2010 - After children in need, dan can't wait
5th December 2010 - Dan loses faith again
20th December 2010 - Dan is excited about the new episode
25th December 2010 - After the episode airs, Dan says how good it was
10th March 2011 - Dan gets perspective and realises that the xmas special was just another episode of Doctor Who and it didn't really matter that much after all.
I'm calling it now.
Finished "Amy's Choice". Bit sappy at times, but the Dreamlord was creepy, and I mean, Matt Smith.
Also, Dan, I remember a while ago you said you wouldn't say who your favorite companion was, because it would spoil it, is it nonspoilerific now?
19th November 2010 - After children in need, dan can't wait.
there's a children in need special?
I cant wait to see Michael Gambon in this... but will probably keep picturing him as Dumbledore!
I cant wait to see Michael Gambon in this... but will probably keep picturing him as Dumbledore!
there'll probably be stealth references to his previous roles
