When you think of time on a large scale, it's close enough.
But not "exact".
When you think of time on a large scale, it's close enough.
except winter isn't a large scale - it's 91 days 3 days out is a 3.3% discrepancy THAT IS HUGE I TELL YOU
It's Doctor Who, it's in a parallel universe, maybe christmas eve for them is actually on the shortest day of winter :v:
a flying shark...? really? good god i hope that's just a promo shot

I really don't get British humor at times. what was up with the horse at the end?
I really don't get British humor at times. what was up with the horse at the end?
That's an american show. It's just randomness. Here's the entire segment
Christopher Eccleston. The ninth doctor and my personal favourite. He was so fucking badass, and he was kind of a psycho sometimes. This scene truly defined Eccleston's doctor for me:
I completely agree with you. Eccleston was by far, in my personal opinion, the best Doctor. And I would have loved to see what he could have done if he had stuck around. On another note... Who else hopes that Rory is a little less annoying and a bit more badass this time around?
I really don't get British humor at times. what was up with the horse at the end?
It's an American show. Smooth. And it's supposed to be a parody of itself, hence the random puppets and horse.
i really enjoyed that chat show with matt smith on, made me laugh. i never really got into doctor who till tennant started, i've seen a few eccleson episodes but not all of them, really need to get around to watching them.

Feels like he'd fit in right with Tom Baker and the old doctors as David Tennant wouldn't

Feels like he'd fit in right with Tom Baker and the old doctors as David Tennant wouldn't
Christopher Eccleston was by far the best, he was consistent, a good actor, and was almost unique in that he had a distinctive regional accent that didn't grate. His character was reflective of the content of the series, it was a slighly darker and edgier reboot with a lot of new shit and classic baddies juxtaposed into new positions (remember that episode where they were trapped with the dalek in that bunker/museum thing? Remember how awesome that was?). The new doctor reflected that, he was more serious and troubled but still eminently likeable. David Tennant I didn't like at first, but warmed up to within a few minutes. He's a great actor, and does the doctor exceedingly well, if only he didn't have tourettes. Seriously, one moment he's moping about how someone died or whatever, the next he's jumping around like a children's TV presenter on crack cocaine, it's rather disconcerting. Matt Smith, meh. He's alright, I guess. Haven't seen enough episodes of his series to make a full judgement, but I don't like him that much. Kind of offsets the inclusion of a hot redhead with a penchant for short skirts to be truly honest. Still, what can I do, it's a childrens show primarily and they need something to appeal to the kids. [editline]3rd December 2010[/editline]
I really don't get British humor at times. what was up with the horse at the end?
That's not British humor, it's a late night American Chat show. Hence why it's devoid of wit.
a flying shark...? really? good god i hope that's just a promo shot
No it's in the episode. Apparently it's part of some unexpected twist. Also you can see it in the trailer.

Tennant, although I did grow to love him rather quickly, just seemed too human to me. Especially with the way he went out. During the 9th's regeneration, you could tell that he accepted his fate. He went out with dignity. 10th didn't. It was really sad and emotional, I'll give them credit for that, but it just didn't seem too dignified, if that makes any sense. I like Matt, though. But sometimes he just seems... A bit too alien, the exact opposite of Tennant. Which, again, is why Eccleston is my favorite Doctor. He seemed to have the best of both alien and human, with that added touch of anger and survivor's guilt.

Whereas with Eccleston he was only playing the Doctor for a short time, plus he was the first actor since the rebirth of Doctor Who, I believe it took him a while to get into the role as I saw improvement over time.
