Had a weird feeling he did the Series 2 finale. Some mixed episodes there, some I didn't really like but some I really did. All this time I never knew he was directing some episodes for my favourite soap! Pays to look into and research the directors haha.
EDIT: Also, the Doctor Who special effects team actually helped out with the James Bond special effects team to create that tram crash. :iia: ITV spent £1million doing that scene.

Neither do I, but for the 50th anniversary a tram or something crashes into the street and it's dramatic.

They did an Emmerdale and killed everyone off? Awesome.

Don't be a Dickbag, jeez.
Why does everyone here apparently watch coronation street though? :ohdear:
Why does everyone here apparently watch coronation street though? :ohdear:
I don't. My Nan does and every so often she tells my Mum what happens, and sometimes I am in the room.

I don't, I've just been hearing more people talking about it than usual
Okay let's get back to Doctor Who ;) Only talked about it due to it having a former producer, director and same special effects team :L
Right, on subject, Matt Smith is awesome.

18 days to go lads, we can make it!
Apparently the Christmas Special is going to air on BBC America, too.
Yeah, we should definitely plan to do something Who-related during the gap between series, even if we won't ever accomplish anything.
Is it airing on Christmas on BBCA?
[editline]7th December 2010[/editline]
NVM it's at 9pm just checked their schedule.

Turn the thread into a take-it-in-turns fanfic?
Turn the thread into a take-it-in-turns fanfic?
Could be cool, if we organise it so people post "NEXT" if they want to write the next part after someone posts their section, and then write around a paragraph or two, hopefully taking it seriously or adding humour that's actually funny rather than anything stupid... It could work :v:
Just need someone to draw up a more definite set of rules and actually start off the story. If we put it together in notepad or word format at the end, and make the file publicly available to people in the thread (so we're actually working towards something rather than doing something that belongs in fast threads) then I reckon it could be pretty fun.
If the others want to be involved as well, that is.
You could have the whole thing uploaded on Pastebin.

I fucking hate fanfic. No matter how brilliantly written, they make me cringe so bad.
I don't particularly like writing about already existing stuff, but I never publish anything I write out of fear. :ohdear:
Some fanfics are brilliant though.
I'm thinking it'd be better if it was in the style of Blink, as in the main character's someone we make up and the Doctor only appears for a brief period near the end, if at all. It'd give us more freedom with the main character and mean that it probably won't be as cringeworthy.

Also, first driving lesson in about five minutes :ohdear:
We had the idea before of writing a series in about July or August.
There was a power-struggle and ended up being 2 forks, unfortunately neither of which amounted to anything.

Which reminds me, I really ought to save up for my provisional...
Everything went better than expected :v:
But yeah, I still think the story thing would be cool. If it's just one person doing a story, chances are that one person is going to be completely bored after a few minutes of writing. If not, it still leaves everyone else doing nothing.

I'm up for a collaborative effort
we each take it in turns to write about 500 words (?) then pass it onto the next person
Why not split it into scenes?
Not based on The Doctor?
Set it in the future, about an arsehole bounty hunter trying to hunt down the doctor, he puts a crew together. Bit like Mass Effect. He comes close to catching The Doctor near the end but lets him go to save his crew, as he becomes a better person and shows compassion.
Obviously that's a really early and basic structure, but a structure is a structure.

I don't think we should start now, so close to the christmas special
we'd finish planning it and then it would get put on the backburner because of the 20 extra pages that spring up overnight from discussing the special
it's like eating a pie before going out for a meal
A big christmas pie.
