I really loved this episode. Usually I hate plot reset buttons, but this one was actually pulled off very well. My favourite finale yet, I think. Though it still does seem quite 'extreme'. I really liked Departing of the Ways as a finale because the set-up was much better, it was just a Dalek invasion, not a universe in peril scenario. I liked the actual end better in this one though.
since when do they beg for mercy
In Genesis didn't that say they had no concept of Mercy? But then I think the last Dalek from Eccleston's series begged for mercy too.
I don't trust that Richard Dawkins.
That might be some subtle hint at what the world is like without stars. Without stars or galaxies there wouldn't be any evidence of the big bang and so maybe tons more people are religious. This would be because there isn't any proof that the Earth isn't the centre of the universe and they still think that the Tardis is revolving around the Earth and not the other way around. And since history was slowly being erased there probably wouldn't have been as many fossils to support the theory of evolution either. It all makes sense!
Wait, why did Amy not remember the Daleks
Cracks deleted them I would guess.
Can't wait for the next Adventure Game to come out. [img_thumb]http://doctorwhotv.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Dr-Who-The-Ad-9.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://doctorwhotv.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Doctor-Who-The-Adventure-Games-2-4-570x320.jpg[/img_thumb]
Finale's are always more powerful when they are a certain dire situation and not 'universe go bye bye', don't get me wrong this was pulled out beautifully, but after a while it just gets repetitive.
I enjoyed it, and it was genuinely better than the other finales, but I don't think it was as good as the rest of the episodes of Series 5. hmm Maybe it's because of the clusterfuck of time loops that are preventing me from understanding it.
I really liked the crazy time loop things they had going on. I hope there's more in some later episodes, so long as they don't pop up too often.
To be fair, it was clear ever since the doctor defined the cracks that they'd be part of some doomsday scenario.
Finale's are always more powerful when they are a certain dire situation and not 'universe go bye bye', don't get me wrong this was pulled out beautifully, but after a while it just gets repetitive.
Yeah I agree, I liked the set ups to Departing of the Ways and Last of the Time Lords much better than this one and Journey's End, though the solution that the Doctor came up with, as well as the writing in general I enjoyed more in this episode so I think it's my favourite finale now.
Oh yeah, you're right. Why doesn't she remember the Stolen Earth?
the cracks. Most of us completed it. [editline]08:21PM[/editline]
In Genesis didn't that say they had no concept of Mercy? It said it was being released on the 5th of July on the Doctor Who Wiki :aaaaa:
"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." Got to say, that was genius.

I really liked the stuff about Rory and the lone Centurion. It was cool when he started shooting the Dalek, I thought it was hilariously cool.
Auton Rory's pretty badass. Well, the more centuries you live for as a plastic action hero, the more awesome you become.
Rory's human again isn't he?
If he's human again, then how can he remember about being an auton? Thats if he does remember...
If he's human again, then how can he remember about being an auton? Thats if he does remember...
Dunno, maybe that Eye of the Storm shit again? Speaking of Rory, did anyone else think he melted in the fire depicted in the Museum?
Speaking of Rory, did anyone else think he melted in the fire depicted in the Museum?
If he did, how did be become a security guard?
I want to know how he stayed Sane knowing that Amy was always a few feet away, and never knowing if she'd return to him.
And Ameila was restore.
If he did, how did be become a security guard?
Before he appeared as the security guard. Because the Doctor said "be careful of" and disappeared, so maybe it was fire. Obviously not though.
I felt slightly disappointed by this finale...
Before he appeared as the security guard. Because the Doctor said "be careful of" and disappeared, so maybe it was fire. Obviously not though.
He said "stay out of"
Before he appeared as the security guard. Because the Doctor said "be careful of" and disappeared, so maybe it was fire. Obviously not though.
But if he melted, then he wouldn't have been able to become a security guard because he's be dead wouldn't he?
I just watched it. God was that brilliant. At the same time, it made no sense. I have some questions, and I'd love if some of you could try to help answer them. How did the loop start where he gave the sonic to Rory and told him to release the trapped Doctor, causing an infinite loop? Loops don't start out of no where. Another loop happened when he was shot by the Dalek and went back in time. Also, what caused the TARDIS to explode? What was that voice from The Pandorica Opens? And what timeline really happened? There were like 20+ timelines in this episode all mixed at various points. My head hurts just thinking about it. There's so many little Amelias too. There's the one from The Eleventh Hour, and there's also the one that went to the museum, but then vanished? Argh, I'm so confused! Anyway, I loved the episode. Moffat is brilliant.
But if he melted, then he wouldn't have been able to become a security guard because he's be dead wouldn't he?
This was before it was revealed he was the security guard though. And besides, "think" was a key word there. [editline]09:32PM[/editline]
He said "stay out of"
Roughly the same to what we're talking about.
The series finale was too good.
Amy and Rory are both older than the Doctor now. [editline]09:36PM[/editline] Do their ages carry through from the reset?
They might have, for all you know. River told the Doctor he'd find out what she is soon.
Wait a second...River is an egyptian goddess! [editline]04:39PM[/editline] Also, I wonder if we'll ever see the doctor's daughter again. [editline]04:41PM[/editline] Also also, River claimed to be Cleopatra in the last episode, coincidence? I think not.
God Dammit, Canada is 3 episodes behind We haven't even got 'The Lodger' here yet. Oh well, firing up uTorrent (User was banned for this post ("WE don't need to know that you pirate tv shows" - verynicelady))
Amy and Rory are both older than the Doctor now. [editline]09:36PM[/editline] Do their ages carry through from the reset?
Unlikely. Actually... it is kind of like if you used cryogenical methods to travel to the future. In a way you are older, because you've existed for that long. But in a way you aren't older, because you haven't really been "alive". Much in the same way Rory was made of plastic and Amy was stuck in a box that was healbotting her. [editline]09:46PM[/editline] So they are and they aren't is what I mean to say.
The Doctor was going to say 'Stay out of trouble' when he disappeared.
