That is totally awesome.
Yeah dude, RADICAL! *air guitar solo* Bill and Ted is an awesome set of movies.
You know there's really nothing to talk about when the Doctor Who thread reaches the second page and the last message was 2 days ago.. (well obviously not now i've replied)
I can add some stuff from the numerous spoiler sites I lurk around on. Apparently Rory has the weirdy tally marks that've been seen on River and Amy too. Also, that scary doll episode has been apparently pushed back to the second half of the series. I'm annoyed about that, I was looking forwards to being scared shitless by them, especially as two young girls have been employed to do some voice-over work, and I'm betting they'll be for the dolls. Child-voiced giant porcelain dolls... *shudder*
I was just watching the thread creep further and further away from the top of the section :ohdear: And I don't know whether the porcelain dolls will be scarier if they have voices, the weeping angels were scary as fuck because they don't talk (apart from in the Matt Smith two parter, and when they did it was only scary when the guy told them that [sp]he was dead[/sp], after that it was kind of like, whatever)... Guess it just depends on how they do it. Hope this series has more of a focus on scariness than the last series.
Yeah, that's true. But remember the Empty Child. That was horrible with that sing-song child voice...
Hur huu hu huddah? (you KNOW it makes sense)
Hur huu hu huddah? (you KNOW it makes sense)
It actually does!
Hmm I never found the whole creepy child thing scary. I was creeped out when the kids started screaming during Children of Earth and the when I was a kid I remember being scared of the Autons that were during a repeat.
I guess the autons could be scary if they were presented right, but they've also been rather cheesy and generic monsters to me. Maybe that's just RTD's fault for writing them badly, but meh. Hokay, let's pick this thread up a bit. What's your favourite Who-universe monster?
I have to admit, I love the Daleks :3: Mainly due to the fact that between the two episodes from the second series' climax, I was like "holy shit" when the Daleks came out of the sphere, and then there was gonna be a showdown between the Daleks and the Cybermen, and my who-obsessed friend preferred the Cybermen, so over the week it was an argument over who was better, and I just started liking them more and more. Weeping Angels are probably my second favourite, because they're so different to anything else in the show.
What's your favourite Who-universe monster?
the doctor
What's your favourite Who-universe monster?
pre-RTD daleks
Hahaha, the Doctor Who scene on Shameless. I don't really watch it but heard about it :v:
What's your favourite Who-universe monster?
Pre-RTD Cybermen actually.
(apart from in the Matt Smith two parter, and when they did it was only scary when the guy told them that [sp]he was dead[/sp], after that it was kind of like, whatever)
It scared the balls out of me when he said "for fun, sir." I was all "nuh uh, fuck this shit." But I kept watching anyway.
I really liked the Vashta Nerada. Really played on that childhood fear of the dark.
Tom Baker's cheesy smile is what scares me the most. That shit could send a Dalek running with fear. Now that I think about it, I don't find alot of the Doctor Who monsters scary, the weeping angels are more of a "BOO LOOK BEHIND YOU" type. Sure, they'll make you jump, but the're not that scary. I guess I was scared of daleks abit when I was little, in the first episode they appear in, the lack of background sound and colour just adds to the moment when you see that famous scene of Barbara backing up to a wall, with a lone eye stalk looking at her.
Autons could be written very creepily. Instead of soldiers like RTD did. [editline]15th January 2011[/editline] PS Apparently Georgia is now pregnant. Tennant is going to become a father
Randy bugger.
Daleks. It's ALWAYS Daleks
Unless it's cybermen. Unless it's not. In which case it's time lords. it's always timelords.
PS Apparently Georgia is now pregnant. Tennant is going to become a father
wouldn't it be ironic if it was a girl
Cast-Wincest or just cast-incest? Only you can decide.
Do you even know what incest means?
Y'know, when Comrade wrote about "swirling entities and the large entity", I couldn't help but think of the court of Azathoth from the Cthulhu Mythos. Please stop. On topic: Grats to Tennant on soon becoming a father, he is one lucky guy. Do you guys reckon Georgia Moffat will return to Doctor Who sometime in the future? I do.
Wait when did Comrade General come back
