Tennant's Scottish, so it's going to be a small screwdriver.
Billie Piper called him "David Ten-inch"
SHE HAS SEEN HIS DICK? :o
Can't find it on IPlayer yet, only the listening version. Really want to watch the video too.
Oooh hooo, this sounds really juicy gossip.
Can't find it on IPlayer yet, only the listening version. Really want to watch the video too.
Video version is on BBC Three / BBC HD in September.
SHE HAS SEEN HIS DICK? :o
It's probably just banter, although when asked if he's ever had people call him "Doctor" in bed, he claims he preferred "Master"
"Ten-inch" was a name given by Barrowman. Well I know Tennant was good to people who came to watch filming, he would wave and sign things. But on the series 3 box set, in an extra, he is walking through a corridor when a 7 year old and his mum walk past him in the corridor. The kid shits himself and stands absolutely still as Tennant carries on walking trying not to laugh. He smiles at the kid very briefly before stepping into an elevator. The kid starts bleeting "Mum! Mum! Mum! Its- Its- Its- Mum! Its-" and the mum didn't even look. She didn't even realise she just ran into David Tennant. David and his Doctor Who production friends just laughed. He didn't say a word to the kid which I thought was mean. But in the urinal, I'm sure he just didn't want somebody he had never heard of to ass-kiss him while he was taking a piss.

Even though that makes no sense.
"Ten-inch" was a name given by Barrowman.
I think we should all be very quiet while we savour that mental image
your mind it has been blown
:monocle:
but I'm not sure how the whole "time-rewinding" thing fits into it all maybe it's some kind of elaborate parody of genetic memories or something [editline]11:42AM[/editline] also it's ironic how the thing that is analagous to male DNA in this metaphor comes from Amy [editline]11:43AM[/editline] and I'm sure surrogate mothers come into this somewhere [editline]11:47AM[/editline] In other news the page limit for threads has been raised to 126, so it's a long way to V5.
Its okay, we have time travel
We'll probably be halfway through the next series by V5.
Anyone else think that Series 6 should have a more active overarching plot than the previous series? In Series 1 it was essentially just plastering "Bad Wolf" onto a wall at least once an episode, but in Series 5 we have the Doctor interact with the crack midseries multiple times and not just notice it at the very end as in the case of Series 1, 3 and 4. Series 6's arc should be even more integrated, perhaps learning more about the new mystery villain (the voice that says "Silence will fall" in the TARDIS) in each episode. EDIT Note that I'm not advocating some kind of behemoth 13-episode serial a la the old series, I'd just like so see a more meatier build-up to the finale.
The arcs in 1, 3 and 4 ran through the whole series, you just have to be observant. 1 = Bad Wolf 2 = Torchwood 3 = Mr Saxon 4 = Bees/Planets Disappearing
The Mr. Saxon stuff started in the very first Donna episode (the Christmas one where she was meant to get married).
The one in series four was a bit tenuous to be honest.
Series 4 was supposed to be the bees and the Shadow Proclamation and Rose. And Shadow Proclamation has been mentioned since Series 1, according to RTD it was always something he was building up to.
Eh, it didn't feel like something that he was building up to, more like one of the things he'd just invented for the Doctor Who universe to sound cool and space-y. He probably only really thought to use it in series four as an afterthought.

It leaves us as viewers frustrated when the Doctor doesn't notice what we're seeing and investigate. It just comes off as an artificial and slightly gimmicky attempt to shove some kind of build up to the finale into the episodes. It seemed that way in Beast Below and Victory of the Daleks, but during the Angels two-parter we actually learn a bit more about the cracks, that there was more to them than met the eye in Eleventh Hour.
Anyway i'm just being a cocksucking little fanboy because doctor who plugs into the gurgling non-hating centre of my brain instead of the sardonic misanthrope.
Don't steal jokes from the fantastic Charlie Brooker!

I don't like Series 5 because it felt kind of random to me. Each series with Tennant had a main bad guy and tons of appearances of the iconic villains. I just wasn't getting a Doctor Who vibe from the stories in 5. I still want John Simm as The Master again at some point. He was just so wacky, I feel like he would jive pretty well with Smith's Doctor.
I just wasn't getting a Doctor Who vibe from the stories in 5.
Maybe you should re-watch 1,2,3,4. Only 4 is worth being called "Great". 2 has so many terrible stories I am surprised it wasn't cancelled. Especially with the ratings dip. I liked 3 the least just because I thought Martha was irritating and that whole Family of Blood arc in the middle of it was frustrating, but the last three episodes made up for it. Those are actually the first three Doctor Who episodes I watched from the revival, then I started watching the rest and finally Smith's stuff. Also, did he? That's a shame, I always thought he said he had a ton of fun doing it.

Also series 4 was shit, Series 1 was good, series 3 was also very good

RTD offered Christopher Ecclestone the role of the 9th Doctor, he accepted. He was RTD's first choice. RTD offered David Tennant the role of the 10th Doctor, he accepted. He was RTD's first choice. Steven Moffat offered Benedict Cumberbatch the role of the 11th doctor, he turned it down. He was Moffats first choice. From there they had to audition the eleventh Doctor and eventually chose Matt. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1298040/New-Sherlock-Holmes-Benedict-Cumberbatch-turns-Doctor-Who-role.html?ito=feeds-newsxml It's a shame, I really would have liked him to have been the Doctor. He had even taken advice from David so that goes to show how likely it was to be him. It seems the second choice was Patterson Joseph, according to Joseph he was very close. But Matt has done a fine job. Also fun fact time. Matt Smith auditioned for the role of Watson in Sherlock.
