when i watched the first five seconds of 11th hour i came so hard
If I was asked to choose an example of why everyone in this thread hates you, this would be it.
It's safe to say Saphyra is one of the ones who really hate matt and suck tennant off.
Like i did when matt was announced(But that was due to the costume and hideous photoshopping. when i watched the first five seconds of 11th hour i came so hard)
i dont hate matt smith at all actually. when i watched the first episode i really did hate him. i thought he was awful. i liked him in the housemate episode with james cordon. despite hating the actual plot and james cordon. i thought matt smith was pretty funny in that episode, and i like his eccentricness.
i just think tennant was a lot better at playing the doctor thats all
I tried to watch David Tennant episodes the other day. I noticed the biggest difference between Moffat and RTD was that Moffat is just more, mature about it. I find RTD to be more, fantasy and over the place while Moffat is more structured and more proper in a way. I guess that's why people think Moffat's stuff is kind of boring, because it's nothing like the RTD ones.
And honestly, I'm so glad RTD is gone after watching the old ones. I found it almost embarrassing, how dramatic and dumb it was. Infact, the episode didn't even feel remotely like doctor who.
Yes. This. i think also one of the reasons the BBC were slowly edging RTD out is because he was hemmorhaging the budget into crap-looking CGI. And the fact that RTD tried to imitate the old series too much instead of doing what Moff does by just going onto new things instead of having an old villain every episode and reusing plots and obscure characters. Moffat also pays more attention and budget into details such as lighting, visuals, etc. not shitbox CGI. I was glad at the abundance of practical effects in S5.
That and RTD patronized viewers more than once.
HUUUUUUGE disagree.
I like David Tennant as an actor. And it was a brilliant performance. But I didn't like that character at all.
Thanks to the hype when he announced he is leaving people suddenly think he is better than he was. Dare you to go back and watch his stuff. You always forget the bad bits. And their's a lot of them.
oh, and your avatar makes me sad. i love that fez :(
Apparantely at the Proms loads of fans wore a fez, and one even ended up on the Proms founder's statue.
infact, i have all of his episodes including the specials on dvd. i watched them recently and don;t recall any bad bits at all. there were a couple bad episodes, but that's not his acting, that's the writing.
and some of the episodes were absolutely brilliant. i think he's an amazing actor. coming from stage acting has really helped because he is a lot more emotional in his acting than a lot of people who have only acted on tv.
That's exactly why I said he was a great actor. But the character still sucked. Their's a difference. His portryal was fine. But the character was a know-it-all big-for-his boots big head who cries and gets mad a lot with no control over his emotions and abilities.
He gets his renown and fame due to the fact Tennant played him so well. If anybody else played that character, we would hate it.
And Smith was mainly a stage actor before Who. He was working at the national. Home to the big actors.

i wasn't saying smith wasn't stage, im just saying a lot of actors and actresses now go straight to tv, and therefore aren't that great. i think matt smith plays that character really well, it's just not my favourite character.
and yeah i agree. david tennants character was a bit annoying at times, but he managed to carry it off.

This is pretty much the reason I cringe whenever I see comrade general post. I'm sorry if this isn't contributing to the thread but i see some 'But he is adding to the thread', i don't care if he is adding some very small quality to the thread, he is a bad poster.
That was badly put.

The irony! It burns!
Matt Smith is my Doctor. you always have that one doctor who you just love to bits more than any other and he becomes the timeless one for you. You can still appreciate the others but one of them just takes center stage when you think of the doctor.
That's Matt Smith for me.

Heh Timeless.
Ok, this has been bugging me about Dr Who for a while, and I was wondering if you guys could help me out here.
At the end of the season finale, Dr. who uses the pandorica to reboot the universe, but it's a universe where he never existed. Before Amy remembered him, he never existed. So my question is, what happened to all the times Dr. who saved the day? Did they never happen?
Thigns like the daleks annd cybermmen didn't exist in that universe, because only the earth and the exploding TARDIS existed; the rest of the universe died in total event collapse.
I really hope they do something like another 'The Five Doctors' crossover with 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th Doctors, would be amazing.

They won't. Mainly due to the fact that Christopher Eccleston has no interest in doing anything Doctor Who related.
They won't. Mainly due to the fact that Christopher Eccleston has no interest in doing anything Doctor Who related.
Did you ask him that?
He is overly passionate and excited when approached by fans/interviewers about the subject. I know he didn't like what went on their within the crew but he respects the role very much and wouldn't ruin it.

Don't diss the Barrowman. It's both his character and partially real life too.
Actually, to contribute to this thread, I shall provide fanart of the TARDIS. Even if it is shit.

I expect moffat is just trying to drink to forget that Jack existed outside of his Two-parter. as he was just made a massive gayist(Mighty boosh reference ahoy) by RTD.

He'll probably come back at some point when Moffat's the head writer; Jack is still Moffat's character, no matter what Davies did to him.
Moffat wrote The Doctor Dances and the one before? That explains the sheer awesomeness in them then.
Yup, both the Empty Child and the Doctor Dances were written by Moffat. They're the only episodes that have really creeped me out since the new series started. Best episodes in the first series in my opinion.
