I know that, but what was the reason?
He got exposed to some sort of radiation.
I know that, but what was the reason?
You missed a series called "The Specials". It takes place between Series 4 and 5 and it's 4 episodes long. It includes a two parter with the Master and The Doctors end.
Don't worry, LOTS of people miss it, which is why I think the specials should have just been "Series 5" but a short Series 5.

How about watching The End of Time?

Alright, thanks.
Seven days of peace and quiet for this thread. Yes!, YES!, YEEESS!
[editline]02:19AM[/editline]
And I don't even have to scroll past that fucktarded avatar
Oh good, Comrade General is gone.
Am I the only one who thinks Series 5 isn't the best series ever? I mean, I'm not saying it's worse than the others, I just don't think it's better than the others either. I just think it's another Doctor Who series with good episodes and bad episodes.
The only series that has left me wanting more was series 1 with the Bad Wolf story arc. The other series have just had boring 'save the universe' endings.
Look at the thread he got banned.
HILARIOUS
Probably the only funny posts he has ever done. By accident.
Here we are:
How about watching The End of Time?
Actually, just watch the last 20 minutes of part 2 of the End of Time, on the whole it's a pretty dumb story.
[editline]11:41AM[/editline]
Watch the Waters of Mars though, it's a really kickass episode.

Oh gee, would that mean that the series would go on during the Autumn?
BREAKING NEWS
DOCTOR WHO SERIES TO BE SPLIT INTO 2
The next series of Doctor Who will air in two parts, it has been announced.
Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival this morning, showrunner Steven Moffat confirmed that the sixth run will start in Spring 2011 and return in the Autumn.
A statement from the BBC explained: "The split transmission is the result of a request from Steven Moffat to write a new Doctor Who story arc which involves a big plot twist in the middle of the series. By splitting the series Moffat plans to give viewers one of the most exciting Doctor Who cliffhangers and plot twists ever, leaving them waiting, on the edge of their seats, until the autumn to find out what happens."
More to follow.
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s7/doctor-who/news/a269381/new-doctor-who-series-split-in-two.html
So Doctor Who will have half the series in spring and half in autumn.
Good or bad? Discuss.
Also Doctor Who team is currently in a talk, expect more news throughout the day.
[editline]11:54AM[/editline]
They just showed a trailer for the christmas special.
Moffat doesn't beleive in the regenertaion limit.
Next year something game changing will happen to the Doctor.
And their will be a dalek story.
[editline]11:58AM[/editline]
This time they are doing the Dalek story because they have an idea for a dalek story. And their will be lots of different Daleks. And we will find out who River Song is next year.
In the trailer for Christmas special:
Amy says "Time can be rewritten"
The Doctor says "I'm the ghost of the Christmas past"

At a press talk.
This is excellent news. I assume they are splitting it 6/7?
Top Gear do it and it helps keep the format fresh.

Actually he made the thread over a month ago, he only got banned because someone bumped it. :v:
This is excellent news. I assume they are splitting it 6/7?
They said 7 in august so I assume so.
Unless it's 13/7. Which I doubt. 6/7 is a better idea, can spread the budget easier and people won't get tired.
It's 7 in spring, 6 in Autumn + Christmas Special
Wow, sounds like next year's series is gonna be awesome. Splitting it down the middle and spreading it between Spring and Autumn sounds interesting.

We are never a few months away from Doctor Who.
[editline]12:26PM[/editline]
Please not, splitting the series down the middle is the perfect time to change cast. EG: Get rid of Amy, Rory or Matt.
When Karen was asked how long she was staying she gave a long winded "We'll see" explanation.

I hope the cliffhanger will be when we finally find out who is causing the cracks (the voice that says "silence will fall"), and the second half of the series is is a six-part serial where they try to stop him/her/it.
a man can dream
just realised, this will mean during 2013 they can split the series into an original part, an an anniversary part.
So how many months will this be between the split season? I hope the episodes are longer or something, otherwise I dunno if the idea is good or not.
And I think there should be a regeneration limit, Doctor Who has to end some time
Wild speculation so no spoiler tags required!
I think River Song will kill somebody or do something terrible at the end of Half 1 and then Half 2 will explain why she did it.

About 3 or 4. Episodes are still 45 minutes long.

They better be the best episodes ever done in the new who, then.
The break isn't a problem. Gives them more time to write and film. and at most we have 3 months between each episode. For example, let's say.
Christmas Episode
- 3 month wait -
Series 6, takes us to may.
- less than 3 month wait -
Series 6.2, takes us to the end of september.
- 3 month wait -
Christmas again.
So we always have 3 months between Who, which if you ask me, is better than 6 months.
[editline]04:26PM[/editline]
Just watched the iterview. Steven says he is not splitting series 6 into two series.
One series will be series 6.
The other will be series 7.
Meaning you get 2 huge budget finales
2 huge budget openers.
And less filler.
[editline]04:52PM[/editline]
Post quality in thread improved.
Less waiting is better, I guess

This must be part of Moffat's master plan. I think he's exploiting BBC accountancy to give himself a larger overall budget by splitting it into two seasons.

As I said, Top Gear do this and it leads to much higher quality episodes.
Please note, we could end up with Doctor Who, Top Gear, Sherlock all in the same night, one after the other.
Ooooooh
Doubt it, Doctor Who has traditionally been on a Saturday.
