That's the Wii. Would have been decent if it was the DS
Neil Gaiman has revealed more details about his forthcoming Doctor Who episode.
The writer confirmed to Doctor Who Magazine that the instalment will reference elements of the show's past.
"It all starts in void-space, with something or someone we have not seen since [1969 story] 'The War Games', and a knock on the Tardis door," he explained. "The guest star... is the brilliant Suranne Jones, playing someone who is beautiful... and who bites. [She] might just turn out to be an old acquaintance with a new face."
Gaiman's episode is expected to air third in the next run, but he explained that the story was originally intended to form part of Matt Smith's first series as the Doctor.
"Steven Moffat wrote me the letter telling me that they were out of money, and that because I'd written a very expensive episode they were bouncing me to episode three of the new season," he claimed.
He added that the move required rewrites to incorporate the character of Rory (Arthur Darvill).
"I wrote another version of it, with Rory in, because now he existed again," he quipped.
Series star Matt Smith recently told DS that Gaiman's episode is "brilliant" and "a real one for the ardent Who fans".
Doctor Who will return to BBC One for a full series in 2011, following a one-off special this Christmas.
So it's a sort of spiritual successor to The War Games? Interesting. It could be one of the Time Lords from that story who is coming back with a new face. Or Zoe?

we really need to find a cure for your double-post syndrome dan
also hopefully rory will have an active role in it, not just squeezed in because it was originally designed without him
It wasn't designed without him, it's just Gaiman was originally writing for Series 5 not 6
I tried trolling my dad the other day, just for the lulz. He's a big Doctor Who fan and I don't really like it unless it's an alien invasion episode with lots of guns.
So I say to him "Star Trek is better" and then follow with "and so is Star Wars." He didn't really pay much attention to my comment though.
I really do think Star Trek and Star Wars is better than Doctor Who though. Don't flame me for expressing my opinion.
wondering why you are coming into this thread just to say that? also laughing at you for using 'for the lulz' and 'don't flame me' in the same post.
today's youth use the word 'Trolled' over 'teased'?
My god have mercy on our souls.

trolling is where you deliberately say something that you don't agree with so you anger other people
learn what words mean

Doctor, Why so serious?
Sarah, Why so Arnold Schwarzenegger?
Jo, Why so Silurian?
I joke, I love these three.

Hint: Don't vote for Adric. The poll is about opinion but Adric is the wrong answer.
Jo Grant looks fake, maybe it's her gigantic mouth across her face
And she's so old that she's haunted
It's nice that the first thing Russel T Davies writes for Matt Smith is named "Death of the Doctor" :v:
Jo's mouth looks like it's been surgically removed then badly sewn back on with masking tape.
Yes I am aware you cannot sew masking tape.
She's a bit like Skeletor

I wasn't trying to tease my dad. I was trying to make him furious.

I didn't know I needed a dictionary to infer the meaning of troll. I just figured it meant making other people (mostly on the internet) angry because in some sick and twisted way, you enjoy it.

Trolling isn't "mostly on the internet". It's only on the internet. In real life we use the word "tease", "bug", "annoy", "Infuriate" and "Make-him-realise-the-importance-of-condoms".
holy fuck her mouth.
It's going to distract me for the whole episode, I know it.
Who-girls. Never stay attractive.
Though they DO look good for their age.
Still wouldn't.

Fun Fact: Katy Manning is part blind and on her first day of filming she ran into a tree and knocked herself out. From that day on she had to hold Pertwees hand during action scenes. In the upcoming episode she holds The Doctors and Sarahs hand.
I don't like SJA. But I will be watching this episode.

Billie Piper in 30 years time
:ohdear:
There needs to be a series with him, just a one-off thing, maybe between Doctors. A Specials series or something. He was just so awesome, even in a terrible situation. Deserves better.
Eh, McGann's doctor was in a period of the show's history that most fans would rather forget.

Sylvester McCoy has told fans he has been cast as Radagast the Brown in the upcoming film The Hobbit.
Rumours of the Seventh Doctor's involvement in the Peter Jackson film have been around for a while but this is the first conformation from the actor that he has been offered a role in the movie.
McCoy was speaking at the Armageddon Expo in Auckland yesterday, It is understood that McCoy had meetings in Wellington with Jackson and co-producer and co-writer Philippa Boyens last week, where he was offered the role, but that no contracts have yet been signed.
The Hobbit is currently slated for release in two parts, the first due in 2012. Production is currently delayed due to a dispute involving the New Zealand branch of Actors Equity.
TLDR: McCoy gets Hobbit role. David Tennant didn't. Yet.
Mcgann and McCoy have actually aged pretty well. They could still actually come back into Doctor Who in a special. I'd rather have the 7th, the 8th and the 11th doctors then the 9th and the 10th in a special.
Dan have you hit 500 posts in this thread yet

Why not just have all of them instead?

He's probably got double that :v:
Why not just have all of them instead?
Because the physical impossibilities of bringing back the dead prevent us from having all the Doctors.

Let me explain this a bit more.
At a recent convention Mcgann revealed this as his "New Doctor Who costume". Nobody is 100% sure what he means. Half (If not all) the stuff is his own. The screwdriver he is holding looks a bit like Elevens but the handle is wooden. This will probably be used on Big Finish promotional stuff, it has the BBC's blessing so apparently it's 'official'. I do like it. But it just seems lazy. Other than the coat, it's pretty forgettable. It's nine meets eight. Costume wise.
It's a "Work in progress" too.

I do prefer eight with short hair, Paul refuses to return for the anniversary if he has to wear the wig, so this could be part of the negotiation for the anniversary which Steven has apparently started working on.
