That only makes things worse, if you can afford to, volunteer work will help the country get out of this mess.
It isn't like McDonald's is a good referral for work experience. Nobody gives a fuck if you work in that place.
Just go for it, McDonald's is a shitty place and volunteer work would really look good with employers.
Think about what looks better on a CV.
Voluntary youth worker.
Burger flipper.
Yeah, quit the job.

Ah, well there you go. Enjoy what you can now before you become a soul-less worker bee =D
I had a friend of mine about 6 years ago who got himself an internet girlfriend who lived in Michigan, which I've heard time and time again was THE worst possible state to live in if you're looking to work. Long story short, he moved to Michigan to be with her and he's been working at McDonalds for 6 years now. He even accidentally had a baby with her too and she currently doesn't work.
I'd rather stick with a paid job even if its shit since you might say you have no need for money but I bet you will.
Paid job, you will require money in your life.
Quit Mc Donalds and do the voluntary job UNTIL they offer to pay you (my friend did voluntary at a youth centre and now works full time on £7.50 an hour.)
The pay you get at McDonald's seems so not worth the shit you have to do, and at least volunteering makes you feel like you're contributing or something.
If you don't need money, then voluntary work is always a good thing. You'll probably enjoy it, and it'll look good on your CV for future employers. I do loads of volunteer work and it has gotten me loads of jobs and lots of interviews.
holy fuck, why are you torturing yourself? if you don't need the money, get the fuck out of mcdonalds.
