Okay fine, then we'll ditch anything from the past. I already suggested a test before the election about issues on the election, and you all just keep jumping all over the small things, and making stupid points like "hurr Hitler was elected by a majority!" neglecting the fact that hitler went out of his way to brainwash the masses, and eliminate any opposition from rival parties. It's like arguing with a bunch of fucking high schoolers.
Sorry, I'll say something at the Elementary level. The evil whites gave mean tests to minorities before they can vote. If they weren't smart enough to pass the test they will never ever vote! Then LBJ our hero banned those evil tests so that the land will never be corrupted by tests that hold back the citizen's right to vote again!
By small things you mean intentional bias that could easily sway the opinion of masses of voters? Yeah, that's pretty fucking minor.
What intentional bias? The information is made available, i've said that time and again. So i guess at most it's biased against people who don't want to learn what they are voting for, but then why should they vote if they don't care about the subject or the outcome?

How are you supposed to do a test about the election without covering every single aspect of a candidate's campaign? You need to test them on every single goal and view of the candidates to be unbiased, otherwise some people may be misinformed. It is entirely impractical, basically impossible, and it would be biased no matter how the questions were worded.
Sorry, I'll say something at the Elementary level. The evil south gave mean tests to minorities before they can vote. If they weren't smart enough they will never vote. The big bad busness men in sutes would right books with their opinion to have the test on.

It would need to somehow cover every single aspect of a candidate's campaign from every viewpoint no matter how extreme.
You said our previous points were "small things". I'd consider an opinion that could sway a large amount of voters important.

TV and internet tells you about those big people in suits about what they are RUNNING FOR! But then big evil corporations and the big bad interest groups throw out their own advertisements about the candidates so you will never ever get an unbiased view ever again! Oh no! It's reality.

Like i said, the south then, is not like the nation now. They deliberately did it to keep the black people from voting. It wasn't a test to make sure that they knew what they were voting for, just like the back of the bus rule wasn't enforced because the seats were nicer. It was all done to keep them down. I proposed a way that educates people who don't know what they are voting for, improving everything about the people voting so that no one goes in without knowing what they are voting, and all you can all do is act like i'm some flaming racist, and mock me. It's obviously no use trying to debate it, because none of you are taking it seriously at all. [editline]4th January 2011[/editline]
That's what TV is for my dear boy.
I already suggested a test before the election about issues on the election
Voting pamphlets already contain comprehensive descriptions of legislation and candidates positions.

That's already sounding like disenfranchisement. "Oh before you vote, please take the mandatory test administered by the Democratic Party." And I really think people can afford a newspaper. The Whites did not want to put down minorities. If you read your history book properly, the Whites wanted equal rights for Blacks, they wanted it separate. Many Southern states were already building All-Black schools, and other All-Black facilities at the cost of millions on millions of dollars. The Brown v. Board decision dashed all of those projects and so began the fun of forced busing.
I nominate this thread for worst thread 2011 i think we've got a winner on our hands op's idea is awful for the simple fact that it completely contradicts the notion of a liberal democracy that zakaria guy wrote a book about it

[editline]5th January 2011[/editline] Without tv or internet you most likely wouldn't know about the test.
Okay, how about it just establish one idea, since this seems to be the 3 of you against me, and we'll go from here. You come in to vote. You are handed a booklet to look through that contains the issues for that election, and the basic views of the people who you are voting for. What they are for, what they are against. Then you sit and look through the book, and are tested on what the issues were to ensure that you understand them, and the candidates. You can sit there and retake it as many times as you want, but you can't vote until you understand the test. There, it's not getting rid of black people, and lazy people had to show up to vote, may as well read the book. What's so wrong with that?

This doesn't make sense. Who makes the effort to vote doesn't no shit or care about goverment?

It wouldn't be any different than the paper you vote from that says what they things are, but instead of just handing it to you and hoping you read it, or already know, it makes sure you know what you are voting for.
