He's probably in line to play it next or something.
The rumoured actor, Idris Elba, is only 4 years younger than Craig is and Craig supposedly signed on for more Bond films. He would be like Roger Moore old, before they even started on him So unlikely to be Elba, most likely another guy
While the film was fucking fantastic, I couldn't help but laugh at the bastardizations of computer tech: apparently asymmetric encryption is something even MI6 has trouble handling, and not just the standard encryption method for logging into any website... Also how the code "fights back". I mean yeah, it wasn't bad; just nitpicking I guess.
Movies will never get hacking correct. To be honest, if they did it would be very boring social engineering. No technobabble or anything. For the layman that isn't what secure computers are, they are scary machines that launch nukes!
Did anyone else notice the part where bond choked that guy with his legs while they were underwater?
I don't know why but everytime I see a bad guy getting killed I think of the fictional families who cries due to the lost of their son.
I don't know why but everytime I see a bad guy getting killed I think of the fictional families who cries due to the lost of their son.
I bet you're a right bundle of laughs to have around in action films with high body counts :v:
that's because Craig is a superb actor. I'd say acting wise he's the strongest of all. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him an academy award in the next 10 years, not that it would matter.
Craig sicks all, followed by Brosnan, then Connery.
Saw this film in cinema yesterday. It was amazing, even better than Casino Royale in my opinion. I love how they pulled in all the old Bond cliches. going to catch this when i come home for thanksgiving break, i love daniel craigg as bond, hes as nasty as timothy dalton, and as investigative as roger moore, with a hint of connery thrown into the mix

Saw this yesterday. I enjoyed it, but I still get the feeling that I'm watching an action movie like the Bourne Identity or something. For me the later Bonds haven't had the quintessential Bond element to them, sharp wit, eccentricity and most importantly gadgets. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but the newer bonds seem to be a pseudo-realistic attempt at espionage rather than the older more 'out there' Bond movies.

The last bond had an invisible car, a bomb in his watch and a ring that breaks glass.
But there was a fuckton of sharp wit in Skyfall, pretty much every conversation had a zinger or two thrown in. Really well delivered, too. In other news, yeah, just came back from the cinema after watching the movie and I think it might be my favourite Bond movie so far. Was extremely well shot (unlike the previous one - I could actually tell what was going on during the fights in Skyfall), had a good plot (well, there was a bit of Hollywood ~hacking~ in there but it didn't really bother me), and I just had a blast watching it. Really loved how everything was set up to make it a prequel to the old Bonds: the girl who was helping Bond turned out to be[sp]Moneypenny[/sp], the new Q really seemed to just be a young version of the Q we all know and love,[sp]the new M is male, just like he was in the old movies[/sp], and finally, the gunbarrel sequence at the end instead of at the beginning. And there was the old Aston Martin. I freakin' love that thing ([sp]and cringed when it was destroyed, damn you Silva[/sp]) [editline]5th November 2012[/editline] Also, the gadgets are still here - Bond's gun with the handprint sensor, his smartphone (seriously, just think about that, he's wearing a freakin' computer with an Internet connection in his pocket! We're just used to seeing that on a daily basis), and, well, his old car.
watch out, mentioning the gadgets brings out the sperg hordes who think the gadgets are too "goofy" for modern movies
mentioning gadgets will bring out the aspies who have been crying about the lack of them since 2006
I actually don't get people who didn't like the movie because it didn't have enough gadgets. Cellphones can do most of tech stuff nowadays. Exploding pen and laser watch wouldn't fit this new universe. They are going for more realism, just like Nolan's Batman and even there people complain he goes too far yet the movies are hits. [sp]I thought the henchman's suitcase sniper rifle was pretty neat. And when the Aston Martin turned out to have built-in machine guns and was bulletproof I was pleasantly surprised.[/sp]
The problem arises when almost every single movie goes for the dark, grim super realism. Hence why I hope the next Bond is about Bond on a mission, no MI6 being destroyed or such. Also, hopefully they finish up with those guys from Royale/Solace, quite sure most are out there and Mr. White is as well.
They are going for more realism
so do I have to go to solely Transformers and GI Joe for my "not gritty realism" fix or can I wish actually good franchises could get a little wacky
so do I have to go to solely Transformers and GI Joe for my "not gritty realism" fix or can I wish actually good franchises could get a little wacky
The Avengers are a pretty good example of great movie without gritty realism.
so do I have to go to solely Transformers and GI Joe for my "not gritty realism" fix or can I wish actually good franchises could get a little wacky
Go watch Shoot 'em Up
Go watch Shoot 'em Up
haven't seen a movie like it in 5 years
Did anyone else notice the part where bond choked that guy with his legs while they were underwater?
I noticed this and started laughing a bit. Then I realized he probably did it to cut off the blood supply to his head causing him to black out.
Shiiiit it comes out tomorrow for me, I cant wait. STOP RUINING THE MOVIE
The death of [sp]The Aston Martin DB5[/sp] was so painful to watch. RIP :(
The death of [sp]The Aston Martin DB5[/sp] was so painful to watch. RIP :(
I absolutely loved it when he flicked the top of the [sp]gear stick open to reveal the Eject button and M just looked at him[/sp] [sp]RIP DB5[/sp] :(
all the ratings in the "last watched" thread and the rotten tomatoes page are gettin me fucking excited for this
How safe do you feel?
Bond has returned. With the [sp]Bulletproof DB5 with machineguns and ejector seats, Q's reference to Goldeneye, A crazy ass yet scary as fuck villain, etc.. etc..[/sp]
can I nominate the funniest part of the movie to be [sp]Bond's absolute bewildered "the fuck is this" look when the komodo dragon comes out[/sp] I wonder if its true that they cut a [sp]Bond/Silva end fight in a pit of rats[/sp] because I would've loved that
Such a different feel to it than all the other bond films. Fucking loved it.
