Went to see this, I loved it! The action and plot and all that was nice. It doesn't feel like a Bond film all too much but that isn't particuarlly a bad thing. Only complaint I have with the movie is that the soundtrack can get weird at times. If bond walks down a hall, the music gets intense for like 2 seconds when literally nothing happens.
Also I picked up like 8 of these posters they were throwing away at the theater.
I managed to see this today, fucking brilliant film.
Time for me to try and find the rest of the James Bond films, since I've never seen them. (Apart from the Craig ones. They actually caught my interest with James Bond films.)
[sp]"Welcome to Scotland!"[/sp]
I thought the movie was alright, it almost isn't even "Bond" anymore though, everything has to be oh so realistic these days, it has to be some guy who just releases names of undercover agents. No more launching into space with a plot to destroy the human race. Nor using a satellite EMP to steal money from a bank. I think they've almost completely removed of the iconic Bond elements at this point which is why I didn't enjoy the film too much. I have to say I was really disappointed when all Q gave bond was a gun and radio.

I hate to say it, but that was the point
Just got back from it. It was pretty awesome, I've never really been one to go to the bond films in theatres but I'm glad I did. That intro video with the Skyfall theme was amazing, definitely one of the most awesome intro credit videos I've seen in a movie.
I just got back from watching it. It's a great movie, go see it.
I saw the film. Without going into much specifics on what I thought, did anybody else here think that [sp]Silva[/sp] had an uncanny resemblance to [sp]Noah Antwiler[/sp]
I feel nerdy and slightly moronic comparing a bond film villian to an internet reviwer, but that's literally what pinged in my mind as soon as I got a good look at him.

He looks like a lot of people, including my Maths teacher which is a bit unsettling.
Saw it a few days ago, hadn't heard the theme song once before watching it so the intro was very epic. Loved the movie 9/10.
Excellent, excellent, EXCELLENT movie. From beginning until the end, I was captivated by the great action, expansive plotline and varied locations.
What stuck to me most though was the wonderfully stylistic intro sequence, and [sp]the almost earth-shattering explosion[/sp] at the end. I'm not easily impressed by [sp]explosive fireballs[/sp] as they're done in almost every action flick, but the one done in this movie was truely magnificent and I wouldn't hesitate to call it a masterpiece of [sp]pyrotechnics[/sp] if I've ever seen one.
I saw the IMAX of this and it was absolutely glorious
[editline]11th November 2012[/editline]
Javier Bardem was fantastic
the Craig movies were seriously lacking a good villain and he MORE than delivered
Some negatives I've thought of.
[sp]Bérénice Marlohe's character was almost entirely pointless. She was in about three scenes and got killed just like that, never to be spoken of again. All she did was get Bond to the baddie. I thought they could have tried a little harder to develop her other than 5 seconds of exposition.[/sp]
[sp]Naomie Harris was also barely in the movie. She was just there, never really doing anything other than the opening scene.[/sp]
[sp] I thought the bad guy's plan was absolutely terrible. They built him up to be this insanely smart supervillain and while his escape was cool his plan to kill M was shite. It consisted of taking the tube to the court and shooting her with only two other guys for backup. I just thought he didn't do a lot for a bond villain.[/sp]
[sp]The transition between M dying and that guy replacing her was very sudden, an extra scene would have been nice. Same thing with Bond after he was shot in the opening. He just appears in a beach house right as rain after being sniped off a bridge. I know it's a movie and he's James Bond, but still.[/sp]
The thing that would have completed the whole thing for me was if the [sp] Gameskeeper was played by Sean Connery in a cameo, shit would have been unreal [/sp]
It was a Bond film, and it was fucking amazing. The DB5 unveiling where the classic Bond theme started to play made everyone cheer in my showing, it was so fucking Bond.

I thought he was for a split second. I've read an interview with Sam Mendes where he said that they dabbled with the idea but thought it would've detracted from the film so they decided not to. I agree it would have been incredible but his point makes sense.
I had problems with two scenes. The first is a good example of a nitpick.
[sp]I didn't like how Silva died. The little walk he did before dying was nice but I just could get past the fact that Bond just threw a huge ass knife with such a force we barely saw the blade sticking out. I'd be fine if Bond simply sneaked and stabbed Silva.
The other scene is the final moment of the movie. Bond and everyone else seem like they got over M's death pretty easily.[/sp]
saw it last night with a date. thought it was pretty good. then again i dont remember much of it (if you know what i mean)
that was a bad joke
[sp]also M finally died. its been the same one for like forever[/sp]

[sp]Although Judi Dench has been M for the longest period of time, she's only been in 7 films. Bernard Lee (who played M for 17 years, only one less than Dench) was M in 11 films.[/sp]
[sp]Silva's entrance via helicopter at the finale was simultaneously the most awesome and most hilarious entrance possible.[/sp]
[sp]BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM
GONNA SHOOT YOU RIGHT DOWN[/sp]

[sp]shes been M since i was born[/sp]
[sp]Fun fact: All trains have a system, that if the joints between two carriages break, the train completely stops.
So if Skyfall had been following this rule from the start, the movie would have been a whole lot shorter.[/sp]
Ah so many spoiler tags, must not click! Probably going to see this today, can't wait
[sp]shes been M since i was born[/sp]
[sp]And the other guy was M for longer than you've been alive.[/sp]
Wonder how long it took them to render the opening credits...
A lot of FumeFX and RealFlow I presume.

[sp]They have to, Bond, M, and everyone else understands that because of what they do, they can't dwell on things like that. They simply have to move on. M would've done the same thing if Bond died. This is also the way she would've wanted it.[/sp]
[sp]And the other guy was M for longer than you've been alive.[/sp]
[sp]Same as Judi Dench then? Guess that renders this whole thing moot.[/sp]
It's not like Barbara Broccoli would know.
[sp]Same as Judi Dench then? Guess that renders this whole thing moot.[/sp]
[sp]I took "since I was born" to mean after. I refuse to believe there are people that young on here[/sp]
[sp]she played M in goldeneye in 1995, so anyone that is 15-16 or younger was born when she was already playing M[/sp]
uh I thought Bond [sp]not crying like a bitch over M's death was a GOOD thing[/sp]
[sp]QoS in its entireity was caused by Bond crying over the death of one hottie so Bond not brooding over tragedy is a good sign[/sp]
This seems so pompous now that he played Q well
The main mistake he made is assuming that the new Q is "A professional scientist" who makes exploding pens and laser watches.
The new Q was more of a computer person, as the movie demonstrated, and the new actor played that role quite well, in look and form.
