My cinema had an amazing coincidence with regards to that
Just at the the part that Bond got shot, some asshat's phone started playing House of the Rising Sun. Then at that part, when The Animals started playing, said asshat began to crack up
Saw this at a late night screening last night, it felt like a return to form, like they made a new-old Bond movie if that makes any sense.
Such a great movie especially at the end.
all the "new" characters for the next films were good except for [sp]Moneypenny[/sp]
she seemed kind of "canned"/not really charming
i fucking loved the new Q
seriously. one of my favorite characters of this one.
Just watched it. Loved it.
And I can't stop looking at Daniel's baby blues.

i think they intentionally made it a point to make his eyes a very noticeable feature

I'm still waiting for the TV Ad cross promotion thing when they get all the James Bond actors at the same bar at the same time and have them all say "Bond, James Bond".
I guess this is the best place to ask. I've been interested in James Bond movies for a while now, but I've never seen a movie. Does any have suggestions on what to watch first/avoid?

IMO, From Russia With Love is a good place to start. It's where I started.

Nah, Goldfinger is much better.
Casino Royale.
100% serious.
Diamonds are Forever.
[editline]14th November 2012[/editline]
And Goldeneye for the bodycount.

And the fake Russian accents :v: .
That actually was my first Bond film, I saw it at the cinema in 1995.
Casino Royale.

Which one?
0% serious.
Which one?

Well there's really only one, the one with Daniel Craig. The other Casino Royale is just a parody film that isn't really a James Bond film.
Question.
[sp]If Bond had time to pick up a car, could he not have swung around and dropped M off somewhere? If his plan was to leave a trail for Silva to follow, surely he could have still done that without her, and faced him alone at Skyfall - keeping M off the grid. She was being used as bait yes, but how did that get put in to the trail? A big pop up saying "SHE'S HERE, COME QUICK?"[/sp]

I'm pretty sure Silva's too smart for that

Watch them all in release order (so starting with Dr. No). Personally I found Diamonds Are Forever to be terrible, but you should just watch them all anyway.
This movie was delightfully good, much better than the previous 2 (which felt like total disappointments to me).
I saw it a while ago and while I do love the movie I utterly hate the computer secondary base takeover part.
when Q looked at the computer and whispered "he hacked us..." was the worst it got for me
but I guess bond films need a little cheese here and there
The opening titles are in HD now on Vimeo

the youtube uploads have the color a little weird for some reason so I guess just use this.
EDIT: uh or maybe not, all uploads were taken down.

For the worst part was Q attaching an unsecured, potentially dangerous laptop directly into their network and then acting all surprised when something went wrong.

I knew the second his plugged in the laptop is was going to go wrong.
Some negatives I've thought of.
[sp]Bérénice Marlohe's character was almost entirely pointless. She was in about three scenes and got killed just like that, never to be spoken of again. All she did was get Bond to the baddie. I thought they could have tried a little harder to develop her other than 5 seconds of exposition.[/sp]
[sp]Naomie Harris was also barely in the movie. She was just there, never really doing anything other than the opening scene.[/sp]
[sp] I thought the bad guy's plan was absolutely terrible. They built him up to be this insanely smart supervillain and while his escape was cool his plan to kill M was shite. It consisted of taking the tube to the court and shooting her with only two other guys for backup. I just thought he didn't do a lot for a bond villain.[/sp]
[sp]The transition between M dying and that guy replacing her was very sudden, an extra scene would have been nice. Same thing with Bond after he was shot in the opening. He just appears in a beach house right as rain after being sniped off a bridge. I know it's a movie and he's James Bond, but still.[/sp]
it's a shame none of what you said matters.
all you do is cry about menial things.
