the thing that I know should have checked at the door is the whole multi-actor thing if each actor series is the only bond to exist, then why does he ask [sp]q about a exploding pen and has a old movie rigged db5[/sp] but then if its a codename [sp]why did the gravestones have bond on them[/sp]
... damn that makes me think.
Because they're (sometimes jokingly) referencing the old movies in the 50 year anniversary movie? It means nothing ffs
Just got back from this. Loved it. [editline]19th November 2012[/editline] I have to admit, I cringed with the whole [sp]DB5 getting destroyed[/sp]. I mean, how could they?
Be realistic... those things are worth at least £100k each, and they're rare.
i love how fired up bond got when it blew up.
Have not watched skyfall movie yet but I'll watch this movie soon after buying the DVD.. (User was permabanned for this post ("Bot" - Craptasket))
it's safe to say that the damage done by Quantum of Chalice has been repaired.
Am I the only one so freaking happy with the practical effects in this movie? I mean, it's so good to see a movie that's not 90% greenscreen these days.
They were very good, most of the visual effects were set extensions and enhancing the special effects. Did you know the Komodo Dragons were completely CG? http://www.cinesite.com/news/cinesite-creates-first-ever-cg-creature-to-feature-in-a-bond-film
I didn't like it as much, only because I like the quirky old ones... just personal taste I guess.
This movie was quite a dissappointment in my opinion. I really liked the Bond they had built up in the last two movies. Casino Royale is pretty amazing, and Quantum was quite okay too. Those two movies really made Bond a new, 3 dimensional character. But here, it's all just references to old movies and picking out all the cheesiest parts of them and stuffing them in. What happened to "Shaken or stirred, sir?" "Does it look like I give a damn?" ? Now it's all just "LOL theres an Aston Marten", "OMG that baddie just died an exotic and horrible death, and then Bond maed TWO one-liners!", and "[sp]Niiiice, Moneypenny's back, huh!?[/sp]. And what is with the incredibly awkward lines all through the opening scene? And the weird antagonist? I mean, [sp] Silva was just a guy with a grudge, what happened to the whole "Evil organisation trying to take over the world" thing?[/sp]. And [sp]Scotland[/sp] just felt like a giant reference to Sean Connery, how Bond went there because that's where he came from. I understand how this movie is trying to finish introducing Bond and making him into the cold killer with the cheesy lines and the nice cars we know from older films, but did they have to do it so horribly bad, and make him completely two-dimensional again?
Which bond movie was the one where he gets in the rocket sled car and has to escape from an exploding base or something? That is the only scene I can remember.
"[sp]Niiiice, Moneypenny's back, huh!?[/sp].
so you forgot all about Casino Royale's "I'm the money" "Every penny of it" gag? [editline]19th November 2012[/editline]
3 dimensional character. make him completely two-dimensional again?
Did you know people in real life are 3d?

They hired someone who happened to have the same last name as the codename.
As far as I see it, all Bonds are the same person, through some time-defying miracle or witchcraftery. I mean, [sp]how Craig-Bond was raised in Scotland pretty heavily implies he's the very same person as the original Bond- Connery-Bond, who's Scottish. Then there's the explosive pen joke. And then there's the personal connection Craig-Bond had to the Goldfinger DB5.[/sp]

I think that confirms that all the Bonds are the same guy.

It was because of Connery's background that Fleming made him Scottish, but I can imagine that the filmmakers want to keep the character in line with the book version where they can. And everything was rebooted with Casino Royale anyway
I've now found that out.
A 3D printed model at that. Science!
People still arguing over how Bond can change? It's really nothing. If Downey Jr decided to stop playing Iron Man tomorrow then Disney said they'd just get a new actor. And a new one after that. Etc etc. It's the same Bond just a different actor. No elaborate backplot. Just imagine Craig was playing Bond the whole time. Heck imagine it in a contemporary setting if it helps- it's not like any of the Bond films ONLY work in a specific time frame, the stories (apart form cultural references) are mostly timeless. I think that's what they tried to say with Goldeneye and 007 Legends.
Okay, after skyfall had been released, why is there still no XXX version?
One of the departing writers said that Mendes is working with John Logan for the next film.
Still, Mendes is a pretty good director. My hopes are high if he's still hanging around.
i wouldnt get my hopes up just yet they seriously had xmen first class director to helm its sequel until he had to drop out and gave it to the guy who made the incredibly boring first three xmen movies
I have always wondered how the guys who made The Usual Suspects ended up making the xmen movies. okay, they're not that bad, but I certainly was expecting something something better from them

hi cinesite if you went so far as to remove the rigging for the crashing train couldn't you shoved some people in there thanks
Why would the subway train be there anyway? Even before the wall was blown up the train would've been heading for that bit anyway. I don't understand why the train was even heading in that direction if there was a room there.
just watched this movie with my gf. I really liked this one. Last bond movie I watched was quantum and was pretty dissapointed with it. I also think I have a mancrush on Q.
I enjoyed Skyfall. The villain was perfect.
ive been watching bond since i was like rly young, NEVER did i realise Q ment [sp]quartermaster[/sp] the DB5 was a little weird that he had it rigged and all speacialy since the "real" one was destroyed by Goldfinger after bond smashed it into the wall, but there's always been some little eastereggs inside Q-branch like when james has picked up the shoe-knife before or how they have past gadgets hanging on the wall such as the crocosub i think the villan in this movie was not nearly as awsome as the guy from quantum of solace, but i was kinda hoping they would have continued on the super evil villian organisation quantum instead of this, but i hope to god daniel craig stays on for more than 3 movies [sp]too bad about M, but man the series has come full circle and now they're back to its roots, which couldn't be better[/sp] still seeing bond's personal history for once offers a glimpse into bond's persona that hasn't been seen since the S.P.E.C.T.O.R. killed his wife in "her majesties secret service"
Not to go off-topic on the movie but Le Chiffre was awesome out of all 3 craig movies
oi, you stole my name for quantum of wallace :-(
