Well, the avatar fits.
It's funny because Clarkson loves the R8.
Well, the avatar fits.
What, so I voice an unpopular opinion about an Audi and suddenly I'm either an idiot or Clarkson?
top lel Civics have a better style than an R8? Give me a break. Bland cars for bland people I guess. gotta have dat common and unimaginative design. Have fun with your ricer m8. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Ricer
lol I don't want a Civic either. But I'd rather have one of those than an R8 based solely on looks. Nice job failing at reading, making wild, baseless assumptions and making an arse out of yourself, though.
try not to cut yourself on those edges m8
What edges?

(That I now realize is undue) Jeez, chill out before you blow a gasket, dude.
I don't particularly like the R8 (even though I wouldn't mind having one), I just made this thread because it's a great sound and the car looks really cool in the video. I didn't make this thread to wank over the R8 in particular.
I've watched this like 12 times. And everytime I get major chills. We just got a new surround sound system for the living room, had this on it full blast the other night. Violently ejaculating/emptying my bowels.
I don't really care for car porn but that was some niiiice cinematography It's like a mass effect cutscene
Nah, there's no weird animation switches when the camera changes.
Imo those electronicateds german V8's sounds really bad if you compare it to a "classic" V8 ( well the audi sounds more like a electronicated V10 but I can't really tell, damn plastic covers ) All of those are from enormous blocks because I can't find high quality one for others, but they all sound great. Especially the 289 block of the 65-66 'stangs when you hear it, for real (imo again ) Start at 1:30 switch to 3:20
I loved the R8 since I saw it in Gran Turismo 4. Every time I see one on the streets I get sad because most of the time there is a chav sitting in it.
At least he didnt got sucked in the intake :p Heres a overkill dyno test start at 2:00
Is that Brian driving?
And if I was desperate to stay in-class I'd get a Lamborghini, because those I can order with a proper manual gearbox in it.
But you can get an R8 with a stick?

The R8 engine sings, whereas these just bellow. It's awesome bellowing, don't get me wrong, but it's not the same. Comparing them to the R8 engine is like comparing a hammer and a scalpel.
Went to Scotsdale Arizona recently to visit my uncle. People there are fucking RICH, saw Porsches/Audi's/BMW's/Mercedes EVERYWHERE So me and my dad went down to the Penske autocomplex or whatever, he's been considering buying a Porsche. Guy wouldn't come down in deal so we start walking through the rest of the dealerships Get to the Rolls Royce dealership, its also a bentley dealership. Nice british chap comes up, asks us if we need help, says please enjoy the selection if you don't need my help We're walking around for a bit, and I see a few lamborghinis out so I have to take a peek. Sitting behind a few other lambos and roped off is a fucking Aventador AND THE DAMN THING WAS SOLD. Aventador and Audi R8 are the two sexiest cars out there right now in my opinion. And seeing the Aventador in person made me legs weak in awe [editline]1st September 2013[/editline]
Is that Brian driving? They're great, but the R8 is in its own category

Because if your reference are those bad quality videos , this sure is a bellow. But in real, you don't have all this sh!tty saturation. In fact the growl is almost the same if you compare, at mid-rpm , two same blocks but one is fuel-injected with a pile of wires, the other one is fed with a raw carb. What make it sound really different is the exhaust and the order of ignition. This is why a recent V8 muscle car ( 4.6l/5.0l/6.2l suprchrgd Stang, 6.2l Camaro, Challenger... ) will not sound like a Ferrari or a bmw. The first ones fires cylinder by cylinder, you hear eight cylinder, while the other ones fires two cylinders by two cylinders. What you hear is closer to four big cylinders then eight. This is not a question of being "refined" or "not refined" but a question of mechanical ( camshaft and the following , exhaust ) tweaks. Sorry I am not familliar with English technical terms but you probably understand what I mean if you know how those engines works. And, don't get me wrong on this also , this is basically a question of personal opinions. You are free to like the sounds you want to like but it don't make people who don't agree with you dumb. Thanks And have some more V8
[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpB1yR9Sz9Y&[/hd] That noise when the camera moves round to the back
First time I saw this was a couple months ago. Was at the Cinema and this came on. The place I went to has an INCREDIBLE sound system. Needless to say. I may have left a damp patch afterwards.
A student at my school drives a white V10 R8. It is an amazing vehicle but I still think it needs an exhaust to get that sound out. It is surprisingly quiet.

The carburetor went the way of the dodo for a reason. Because it's obsolete and inferior.

Thats why i love my Country and Audi because they make Audis...'n shit
A student at my school drives a white V10 R8. It is an amazing vehicle but I still think it needs an exhaust to get that sound out. It is surprisingly quiet.
a rich-ass student he must be
a rich-ass student he must be
I bet the car is used and he pays monthly. that way he only has to pay about 45k€ instead of 160k€ or something
if he pays monthly he is still paying the same amount, just over a longer amount of time 45k is still a lot for an active student too
People who hate on luxury sports cars usually never have driven one. The Audi R8, non-plus, and Nissan GTR are a dream to drive even for the short few minutes I had. My family friend's corvette Zr1 is great for raw power at a great price, but it just can't compare with the precision, which is a weird way to say it.

He goes to the university I go to and has that and a new generation M5 in the same white/carbon fiber color scheme. He is Middle Eastern so I think there might be family money involved. I love Corvettes and Mustangs and they can make tons of power for very reasonable prices. Exotics have a presence and quality about them untouched by those cars though. Even riding in a "lowly" Maserati, the interior and the ride quality completely blows any Viper/Corvette/etc away. As much as I love my car, I would definitely take an R8 over any cars we probably have in a heartbeat.
I had my Honda rolled on the dyno yesterday :v: makes 169,2 HP at the wheels, @ 8355 RPM and yes, there will be vtec
