If psvita could have homebrew capability like the psp have, then i may consider one, im still using my old psp for this reasons. If psvita could emulate PS2 properly or even a xbox or gamecube, then it would be a blast.
I know my point aims at portable games in general, but I feel that the rise of smartphones is part of the reason why portable games aren't on the rise. The original PSP came out at a time when there weren't any smartphones around. And the PSP was the answer to the smartphone, before the smartphone. It could do all the things smartphone can do today, internet, watching movies, listening to music, and playing games of rather decent quality. Phones at that time couldn't match the original PSP, and the DS at the time was nowhere as good. And then comes the smartphone, which do everything the PSP can now, and it also has some pretty big games. Plus, now you can have a device which functions like a PSP and even call/message, and get a screen even more High Def and bigger than a PSP now. So there isn't a point to get a PSP now. But, there's reasons to get DS. People who love the Mario/Zelda/Pokemon Series will get a DS because its only on the DS. And there aren't much games on Sony platforms anywhere as popular as Nintendo games. So people tend to not be bothered by the PSP. I feel at least my argument is better than OP's video. But that's just me.
