ITT: complete fucking idiots that think they have the knowledge how to raise a child despite never having gone through the process and are incredibly unlikely to ever have a child of their own. I tell it like it is
This applies to you as well good sir.
Problem is if parents do try to discipline their children, the Feds find out and they're in jail for assault and domestic abuse. No one likes jail.
I wasn't hit as a child, and I turned out fine. It's because parents don't punish their children period.
We should start a group or somthing and vote to get them all sterilized.
Oh that's a great idea, so 100 years later people will be going; "Hey whatever happened to that Human Race?"
I got spanked for doing stuff wrong when I was a kid. Result: I rarely do anything wrong. Also my school still has the paddle. We have about 5-10 fights a year.
You're a pretty shit person if that's why you don't act like a cunt.
You're a pretty shit person if that's why you don't act like a cunt.
It's all in the subconscious man the beatings represent control, and the guy beaten always knows that if he does something wrong that hypothetical paddle will strike his hypothetical ass :350:
It's all in the subconscious man the beatings represent control, and the guy beaten always knows that if he does something wrong that hypothetical paddle will strike his hypothetical ass :350:
Unless you're smart enough to not act on "he hit me no do bad thing" logic.
I was beat like a mule by my parents whenever I screwed up and I turned out GREAT!!!
Unless you're smart enough to not act on "he hit me no do bad thing" logic.
It doesn't matter man, you react on things on your subconscious, and when you're beaten when you do something wrong, it sends your subconscious the message "Don't fuck up bro". So you naturally try not to fuck up more, even if it's 10 years into the future.
I'm not sure that beatings would solve anything; I've gotten beaten- shit, I still do- and every one of them was well-deserved, and I think I'm a better person for knowing that and acknowledging it. But at the same time, you have to wonder how well it would work on people who are dicks by nature. Speaking from a student's standpoint, it really disgusts me to see some of the shit teachers take from kids. I often wonder what (beyond the threat of loss of a job) holds them back from walking over and beating the living shit out of them, simply because of how arrogant, ignorant, and disrespectful they are to anyone with any authority. On the other side, I have to admit it's quite hilarious watching someone with absolutely no power fight the one person that holds all the power at that particular time. We're dipshits, plain and simple. Some will realize it and change and be the better person for it, while others won't change and will never get anywhere in life.
It is true. Discipline has slacked on kids. Mostly because you get all these moms saying "Waa you can't hit your kids" It worked for you didn't it you stupid bitch?
ITT: 12 year-old stating 12-year-olds stating that children need more discipline...
I am 18 so I am highly qualified in this field of study. In fact, I am published in many reputable medical journals.* *Have posted in many health threads on Facepunch
Schools especially in the US need to develop discipline so cruel and so BAD that it would scare the shit out of them. Seriously, when a kid comes to class late, talks back, doesn't do work, or get good grades, tie them up or shackle them and put them in a pitch black cell and while at it tell them that if they do whatever it is they did wrong - they'll never leave the cell again. That'll set them straight.
Hm.
Have you seen the kind of "Punishment" high school students get? Ok, well tommy has skipped 70% of his history classes this semester... Lets call home and make him sit in a room for thirty minutes with people who did the same thing. Yeah, that will teach em.
This guy'll take care of your disciplinary problem.

You do something wrong? You get put in a room with cocky assholes who do the same thing. High schools are a pile of shit.
I never understood the discipline system at school. The gist of it: 1. "HEY STOP THAT!" 2. "GO TO ANOTHER CLASS AND WRITE ABOUT WHAT YOU DID WRONG!" 3. "GO INTO A SMALL ROOM FOR YOUR WHOLE LUNCH AND WRITE ABOUT WHAT YOU DID WRONG!" 4. "COME AFTER SCHOOL AND WRITE ABOUT WHAT YOU DID WRONG!" 5. "COME TO SCHOOL ON SATURDAY AND BASICALLY READ FOR 5 HOURS!" 6. "YOU DON'T HAVE TO COME TO SCHOOL FOR A WEEK!" I don't get how number six is bad and number five really isn't all that bad either (As long as you had a few good books and enjoyed reading them).
I may speak for a fair chunk of the population when I say that I've noticed a fair decline in the amount of respect and discipline that the younger generations have today. From what I've heard from parents and the older generations is that it all started when the country abolished corporal punishment. Thats right. The Belt. Generations of little shits giving birth to even worse little shits. Each generation's discipline even more worse as the last. Get them early. Get them young In school. With the belt. Crime drops 300% I mean, whats up with suspension and written punishments. Has anyone seriously thought that they worked?
oh god the belt. I got the belt once. Wasn't fun.

Suspensions are still a big deal too but it usually fails, you come back to school acting like a major shithead because you're such a bad-ass and get rewarded with time off. That's what I did at least, I sure as hell didn't feel guilty.
I say, we let the system fuck over the kids who deserve it later in life.
The reason they think that suspension is a punishment is because a suspension is one of the few things that stick with you (besides grades and SATs) to college. It can be something that makes or breaks getting into college. Of course they never explain this to the kids who get detention so the threat is moot.
Let's all hop on the :bandwagon: guys! OK GUIS OUR KIDS ARE BEING BAD N' DIFFERENT (When ever generation is treated like this) WE SHOULD DO PUNISHMENT LLOLOLOL THAT DOES NOTHINL LOLOLOL.
What? Seriously, what?
Children should be hit more, that would stop the bastards turning into chavs.

I was never beat at all as a child and i turned out fine. Well he did punch me in the face once after i spilt his coffee and thats why i think there should'nt be anything like the belt and such. Your parents may become a bit to 'Happy Slappy'
My father beat the shit out of me and broke one of my arms, but it was cool cuz he got fired after beating the shit out of a kid in a school he was teaching in
This applies to you as well good sir.
You think I don't know that? When I get to the point I know I won't have any clue what to do.
I hate this generation. I hope they all get fucking punched in the face with a sledgehammer fist or something. Sad thing is they're just going to grow up, have kids, be idiots and it will continue until humanity is nothing but immature assholes.
Have you seen idiocracy? Because it's just like that.
