Honda's U3-X, It's like a segway, but more like a unicycle, with lots of wheels

Instead of walking let's sit and look like total morons, while moving forward.
These would be great for offices but that's about it.
It won't even be great for offices.
Imaging just completing hard work after working for a long time.
All you want to do is lean back and rel-OH SHIT OH SHIT
Is everyone really this lazy?
Ever heard of walking?
This isn't meant for the general public to buy, don't get worried about seeing loads of fat people riding around on them. Its meant for super rich guys who want the latest cool toy. Just like supercars and yachts are.
It's purpose is like the asimo, to increase Honda's positive public image so we buy their cars.

But everyone knows Chevrolet and Toyota make the best cars....
This would not be very useful for me since there are not a lot of open out spaces like in the video.
Okay, now that they got some skinny ass bitches to ride around on it, lets see if it can support a lard ass. :science:
It's just a much more practical Wheelchair
big deal
They make front bike wheels for little kid's bikes that stay upright just like this so they learn how to ride the bike without stupid training wheels
i want one :saddowns:
It looked really cool in the very beginning before she unfolded it. I thought it would ride like a skateboard of sorts.
Buttcoasters.
Wasn't some of those sounds from Gran Tourismo?
Also, someone with money go buy me one. I'll pay you back, promise.
It will actually be useful for those with muscle fatigue and paraplegics. If they can make a version that depends on torso balance.
Imagine being able to take that around instead of a clunky wheelchair, plus if you can ride yourself up to a seat in lets say a car you can actually easily put yourself in the seat and stow the scooter.
This would be cool for a chair. I can wheel myself from the computer to the fridge and so forth. However, as a way of travel...I'd rather walk.
I would get some friends and organize all of us dressing up as pirates and scooting around a city in these, all while talking in pirate accents loudly.
and you need to be skinny like the girls in the video.
Americans would complain about it getting lodged in their ass too much.
They should take that wheel concept and develop it for standard vehicles, that would make driving much better as you wouldn't need to spin the car around to go in the direction you want to.
These things look ridiculous, but fun. Would ride one. Probably not in public though.
This is what us humans are waiting for technology wise.
Wheels made of wheels. :psyduck:
From the video it looks as if it can go as fast as you walk. And I doubt it can last longer then you can walk.
It looks fun to drive but I don't see any other uses for it then that.
Oh and they seemed a bit stiff on there, as if they were scared to fall off.
They probably just couldn't trust it completely, same with how they had their feet skimming the floor. I think anyone would probably be the same as well, if they weren't totally familiar with it.
A sensor keeps it upright ... what if the batteries die while driving? The answer is probably a video on failblog.
And are they modable? Backflip DLC and stuff? Buy and download new dance moves right from your hightech-toilet.
1.buy unicycle thing
2.put on a robe and wizard hat
3. put robe over unicycle
4. invite over friends
5. HOLY SHIT HE'S HOVERING AOUND LIKE A FUCKING WIZARD FUCK AHHHH
6. Robe get's caught in the wheels
7. Fall down
8. Friends pee on you

Theory: pretty, thin people
Practice: Fat, lazy people
Is it bad that I'm curious to know how fast these things go from 0 to 60?

Mainly for parallel parking. I'd rather face the direction I'm going in given the option.
I wonder how it handles on hard floors and ramps...
Also from the video it looks like turning might be a bit of an issue, I think that's why they are dragging their feet. The only possible mechanism would be to have two of the small wheels touching the ground at all times, and then very quickly adjusting their speeds as they come into contact to cause it to turn. This would mean the large wheel has to be deformable, which makes the wheels inside a wheel even more complex.
I can't see how the device would sense which way you wanted to face though seeing as leaning side to side already controls the "strafe" movement.
The other problem has to be weight, for it to be able to run for more than a few minutes, that thing is going to weigh as much as a car battery.
Love the way the wheel works.
