It's not really scary, at all. It also raises more questions than it answers. You get a really good look at their Slender Man though.
Looks like Jessica knew Alex and Amy pretty well, and Jay had been staying in that hotel from the beginning of Season 2 for quite some time before he lost all of his memories. That explains why Jessica finds Jay vaguely familiar, since she would have heard her name at some point while hanging around Alex and Amy, most likely.

I don't know about that. I took it more as that Alex dies at some point, or is taken out of the action, so Jay takes all of his shit and flees to the hotel. I mean, he had a portable harddrive with all of Alex's camera stuff on it. Alex may have known Jay was going to lose his memory and left all of the tapes and harddrives there to help jog his memory or something, but I don't really take Alex as the scheming puppet master. More like the paranoid action survivor.
i think alex was somehow aware that he's being slender puppet-ed so he made the chest cam so he can record without having to hold the camera.
