Well Victor Surge said that him and his roommate are working on a screenplay involving Slender Man, and they've also secured a deal with a 'Major TV Show' (Which was specified to [B]not[/B] be Doctor Who, when they asked) for Slender Man to make an appearance.

Victor Surge appears to be interested in broadening the mythos, and probably making a nice chunk of change off of it too.

I think the whole Urban Legend deal is getting kinda irritating. The Rake, Seed Eater, and Slendy are all running the same race without even knowing it. I believe the creators are all trying to beat each other, for no gain except satisfaction and just to win, and I'm getting sick of this.

This is just my though however, I still believe the urban legend thing is getting annoying, race or not.

I also think that maybe Slendy would get back on His feet if he had some rest for maybe a year or two. But that won't happen.

Doctor Who was actually my first guess until they asked him. He had made it a point to mention that it was his favorite show, but then when they asked if it was Doctor Who he just kind of laughed and said no. Uh, I dunno, maybe that show 'Supernatural'? Maybe an upcoming show we've never heard of? Or maybe one of those Discovery Channel documentaries that covers Urban Legends or something. I have no idea.

It's fine if you take an original approach. I mean, I don't mean to self-promote or toot my own horn or anything, but I wrote a blog with both Slender Man and The Rake, and I feel like my approach to The Rake was so vastly different from how it was portrayed otherwise, and with some story hooks, it actually made sense. I do very much disapprove of people using other monsters for no reason, though. I mean, EverymanHYBRID hasn't really explained [I]why[/I] The Rake is after them, and so it just kind of seems like he's in there for the sake of coolness or something.

I agree with that completely. EverymanHYBRID's Rake scene is cool and all, but it really has no point, and chances are they probably won't explain why considering the series is ending soon. :smith:

Unless they have one video were they just come out and say it.

It could actually be good. Someone should try and shoot someone like J.J. Abrams or David Lynch a bit about Slender Man and mention it would make a good movie. I mean, nobody owns the rights to it, so they could essentially make the movie for free, as far as licensing goes.

Have you ever watched a series front to back all in a row? It gets a little monotonous and repetitive. That's why an internet series is perfect because there's time in between updates. A film wouldn't really have that sort of atmosphere and tension.

I bought the MarbleHornets DVD and watched all of the entries in one sitting. It was actually much better than waiting for the next one, because if there's a long pause between entries, you get less interested. I know for a fucking fact that just because there's long times between updates with MarbleHornets, that doesn't increase tension. All it does is increase hype, and even then, that doesn't enhance the actual videos.

With each entry back to back, there's no time to think and I believe that's a huge part of a video series/ARG.

Except there's not really much to think about with MarbleHornets. They generally get around to explaining things. I mean, saying that you don't have time to think in MarbleHornets is like saying you don't have time to think during a Mystery/Suspense movie. With the pause between entries, you do have more time to think, but it's all just speculation. You do the same thing during a Mystery movie, you just get the answer a lot faster.

Yeah i think maybe Slender man does need a rest for a while. Maybe some young talent can put a fresh take on already existing myths/urban legends. I always thought Mothman was creepy & eery when i read stories about him. Then that Mothman prophecy movie fucked it all up. It would work much better being done by amateur than it would being a movie. Hell there's many local myths that many states & or towns have created that are interesting.
