And I'm pretty sure he might have invited a ton of people, like maybe even try to get a hold of Troy or Joe to see if they can make it. I mean, they might be busy or something.

Except he didn't tell anyone about it until it was already over, and specifically said it was creator's only, and I personally know a few creators who had no idea it was going on. It was obviously a private event for people who were invited, and nobody who wasn't. The Slender Creators have always been like this. They have their own webcam chat room, the Creator's Chat, and they only invite fans that they want to meet, and none they don't. There's just so much elitism, even though anybody can make a blog, they act like they're better than the fans for it.

I got a hell of alot of flak for ranting about the original mythos being better than the ARGs, and the ARGs being better than the blogs, and that the ARGs, specifically MH, brought the series down from its prime to shit. But I honestly think it's true. They've turned the whole mythos from a killing child-learning monster who's basically the boogeyman into that tall guy in a suit who stand around menacingly and makes cameras flip out. And does nothing else. Ever.

It's because of the limitations of low-budget videos, you just can't make a killer slendy without a budget and interesting plot device, but that then brings in the problem that he never does anything and other plot devices have to be brought in to maintain the scare.

It's just a load of crap if you ask me, because we had this perfect thing, the modern boogeyman, modernized death, complete in a suit with the scares of old in the times of new, this sort of eternal evil that preys on our fears, the weak, and the helpless. The unknown horror, fear incarnated, that was fearful because it fucked with you, then killed you, in strange ways we don't quite understand for reasons we don't understand. It was a grad idea, built by many minds thinking alike. And it was degraded, pussified, ruined from something to be frightened of down to nothing besides the creeping horror that doesn't really do anything besides creep, without any horror. They took the creeping part but didn't add the finale where the good guy gets killed, so there's no fear involved.

But that's just my opinion, which the vlog-loving masses hated, of course. But being around and being a fan since 2009, being involved during the originals and loving them before MH made their first video, I'm considered old fashioned. Damn me, wanting my monsters to be frightening. I'm tired of this "oh em gee its slondor man standing doing nothing it r scary. o no look itz a person in a mask that tried to be bad scary" shit. It's not scary, it's not slender man, it's not good.

So I call for a return to original slendy. A series that's not just a loitering suited circus freak. It's possible, easily. You don't even actually have to see him, it could easily be done, because the thing about Slendy isn't seeing him, it's what you NEVER saw. Look at the original mythos- it was all missing children and hikers, the aftermath and the before, never the during. You saw the pictures where he stalked the victims, and the reports wherethey go missing, or their corpse is found. Never what he does. Never him in person.

So yea. Someone do that. Let's watch that. Instead of the cheap mass-produced knock off of a knock off of a badly done vlog. Let's start anew, no? Let's start a series based on Surgism, based on the values of the original mythos, on the commonly agreed ground. Let's start anew, hm?

Except they all use the same basic formula because they all try to make the same mistake of having an open and obvious slender man when they can't afford to make him scary and have rely on new plot devices. They did new elements perfectly fine int he written mythos, with different takes and perspectives, and introducing new lore to it. All the series do is take the same slenderman and add new plot devices to keep it going.

Here's a very basic description of 5 slenderman series. Guess which is which. Then tell me what you see in common.

Slenderman appears occasionally to stalk the charaters and drive them insane while masked men assault them.
