Slender Man V5 - "OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT" Edition

Well, the diagram shows that their crossover isn't serious; serious being combining the series into one, merging their plots, or anything of the sort. What they're both doing is just 'crossing over' relevant information that relates both series together. Actually, the only thing that really links them is that Dr. Corenthal guy...and not much else. Their tips will touch, but nothing serious will come of it. That's subtlety in my book. To me, it only seems that a real crossover would involve TT and EMH joining forces, which I doubt will happen. Even if they make a video together, it'll probably be regarding what was in that envelope and nothing else.

Basically, when it comes to crossovers, this is how I see it:
Subtle: TT and EMH high five and trade some info.
Major: TT and EMH merge and basically become one of the same thing, constantly referencing one another.

Uh, if it were subtle, that means it's hard to catch, or somewhat obscure. TribeTwelve has officially name dropped EverymanHYBRID on it's twitter. It's not subtle anymore, it's just a regular crossover. I'm not saying I'm afraid of EverymanHYBRID getting completely taken over by TribeTwelve, but I feel like they should get some of their own shit sorted out and advance the plot a bit more before worrying about doing this crossover with TribeTwelve. I think it's kind of stupid to say it's subtle at this point. Like I said, TribeTwelve name dropped EverymanHYBRID, and so if they do the same, it'll be a pretty full-blown crossover.

If the two merged it wouldn't be a crossover, it would be one series. Your conception of crossovers is a bit off-base, I would say.

I actually want to address this in specific. The diagram doesn't show me that the crossover isn't serious (It's obviously somewhat serious, seeing as how it's gotten a box, several HABIT twitter posts, a puzzle, and at least one TribeTwelve twitter post, with more on the way), it shows me that this entire crossover business is dumb. You crossover with one series, which has crossed over with another, and another, and another, until everyone is stepping on each others toes with the crossovers. HABIT has sent a letter to Noah, and Milo has met Doctor Corenthal. They are also going to meet soon. There are links other than Doctor Corenthal, obviously.

Don't say 'tip touch' because it's obnoxious and just shows how much you eat up whatever Adam/Jeff/Whoever says. Think for yourself. Just because they say nothing serious will come of it doesn't mean nothing serious will come of it. I recall them saying, or at least strongly implying, that the letter would be the end of it. Then a box came along. Then a puzzle came along. Now more twitter posts, and from the looks of it, a video. It keeps escalating and there's no real sign of it stopping, other than Jeff/Adam going "No no, we won't continue, pinky promise." which doesn't really mean anything, obviously.

If that's the case, then what's the big deal about two series doing this? I don't see a big problem. If anything, I see it as more than just a silly jump-the-shark gimmick and more of a novel way to bring something fresh to the slenderverse. It's already started to happen vlogs, like with CompileTruth and OutsideAgents with EMH and TJA. I just hope they don't do anything their going to regret storywise, which I really don't think will happen. And I don't think a vlog crossover is the same as a blog crossover, so things can be orchestrated more successfully than several disjointed blogs. Honestly, I doubt that EMH and TT would have gone through with what this connection if they we're just winging it to get attention. I think they know what their doing and I'm looking forward to what they are going to give us.

I have a problem with it because it keeps going on and on and on and doesn't show any signs of stopping. I also have a problem with the fact that they get so defensive about it and claim that it is a subtle crossover when it obviously is not. The crossover between EMH and TJA isn't even comparable to this. They handle it in a legitimately subtle way. Evan shows up in a video, but neither character knows who he is, nor does he know who they are, and it was a less than five minute [I][B]cameo[/B][/I]. There was significant debate to whether or not it was even In Game Evan or if it was just the actor doing a spot of fan service. How they handle crossovers is a good example, or at least was, prior to the whole 5zer02 arc, but I suppose they were intentionally linking in that specific case, and have now moved past it, thankfully. I don't think they're doing it to get attention, I think they're letting their friendship show a bit much in the video series, and are now letting it get kind of out of hand, or to put it in terms you seem to enjoy, instead of tip-touching they're now just rubbing their dicks all over each others dicks in a massive dick-rubbing event.

1. Who's to say that after this meetup video they plan on doing, they'll never mention each others' series again? It's happened with others before already. I'm sure the guys know that a significant amount of people in the slenderverse dislike crossovers, so they might just cut it off right after they finish what they want to do.

Well, the two series are combining major plot elements (Milo, HABIT, Dr.Corenthal) so I think that it would throw everything off balance if they stopped. Sucks now because if they want to, then they would have to twist the plot terribly.

The crossover is harmless and they aren't having a big affect on either universe. Yes, it isn't subtle, but it's still harmless.

Side characters from EMH are interacting with main characters from TT, and now the main characters are meeting up together. I didn't see you saying shit when EMH crossed over with TJA. Sure that was subtle, but even the most subtle crossovers fuck everything up.

But in the end, everything is okay. It's not like Noah is going to be killed by the Rake, it's not like Jeff is going to be killed by the Observer. At the end of the day, when all is said and done, a little helpful advice from someone in the same situation is going a long way.

You don't get my point. I'm not saying it's ruining the series or something, I'm saying it's getting to be a little out of hand and it's heading in that direction. I wouldn't really count Dr. Corenthal as a 'side character', seeing as how he's mentioned a ton and apparently went toe to toe with HABIT/Evan, and HABIT sent Noah a letter, too. It's not just side characters, it's pretty major plot elements that are crossing over. I didn't complain about the TJA Crossover because it was handled exactly how crossovers should be, and it was ambiguous as to whether or not it was even EMH!Evan or just real life Evan making an appearance. Please explain, how did the TJAProjects crossover with EverymanHYBRID 'fuck everything up'?

Actually ML Andersen is pretty good from what I heard some even consider it on par with the Big 3 (MH, EMH, and TT).

I'm not following it though because I want to stay organized. The only series I follow are Marble Hornets, Everyman HYBRID, Tribe Twelve, TJA Projects, and 5zer02. The only blog I ever followed was Just Another Fool.

Just Another Fool should have set expectations for other blogs.

It had had photos, interaction with the main character, and a general vibe of creep. Most are just boring text and end in some unexpected way or just stop being updated. I wish the creators of it didn't end it so suddenly, could have been as popular as Marble Hornets.
