the twins do you know what he did?
HMM. Maybe it refers to something on the tapes that Jay hasn't found yet. Maybe he killed someone and doesn't remember it, like Daniel.
Is it still up or did you delete it? I'm interested in the smaller series a little more than the bigger ones. The smaller ones usually have more original ideas/not corrupted by fanbase, etc.
It was somewhat original, but still. It spanned over the course of two or three blogs, and I'm not really one to self-promote. It's still up. I actually trimmed off some of the fat and deleted a lot of the filler I put up so that if anyone found it at some point it would be a faster read.
I think we're good to shoot early next week. Whatever happens, a new entry will be posted before we pack up and head to Atlanta for Dragon Con next weekend.
Neat, a new entry is coming soon!
Eh, I wouldn't really say coming soon. In like a week or so I guess, but we could always generally expect a MarbleHornets entry about once every week or two. They've been updating pretty quickly.
he's only interested in his own projects
That was pretty uncalled for. Anyway, I've been going through the series again, and I'm noticing some interesting things in MH. Chances are they've already been discovered though. There's always the chance that there' still something in Arc One that hasn't been uncovered. I want to believe. :saddowns:
Still haven't given me a name.
JokerIsTheCoolest/Employee Of The Month. Have fun.
Just finnished watchill all of marble hornets. Now for EMH.
I finished tribetwelve. Noah is a terrible actor, but the animation and creativity of the series makes up for it.
I finished tribetwelve. Noah is a terrible actor, but the animation and creativity of the series makes up for it.
I fail to see how the series is creative
I fail to see how the series is creative
the tremendous amount of effort put into crossovers
I fail to see how the series is creative
for me, it's the animation style, and the device. Still, EMH and MH are better.
the tremendous amount of effort put into crossovers
it's creative from the tremendous amount of effort put into ripping from other series, in other words.
it's creative from the tremendous amount of effort put into ripping from other series, in other words.
Oh, but every series rips off from MH. Sure some go on a different tangent, like EMH, but they all take directly from MH in some way or the other. I hate how you all rip on some series or the other for being unoriginal, or for having crossovers, or whatever, and this was never an issue until one or two users stated how they believed that the series' creators were douchebags. Then it was a bandwagon. TribeTwelve is just as fine as the rest of the series, you all just seem to think otherwise. Maybe it isn't the most original, maybe the acting does suck, but the content and mystery is just as interesting as any other series, and the effects and device are both good additions. Fucking thread turns into a TribeTwelve-hate jerk fest every time someone brings the bloody series up now.

[editline]26th August 2011[/editline] Also, Seed Eater, when the creator starts flaunting that he 'trolled' us, along with the fact that we are not the only forum to by-and-large dislike TribeTwelve, I fail to see how this is a bandwagon. We have legitimate criticism, you know. It would be a bandwagon if we just hated it for no reason, but we explain that we feel that the acting is shitty and that it rips a lot from other series. We've explained our side, and your only argument is "YEAH, YEAH WELL OTHER SERIES ARE SHITTY TOO AND YOU GUYS ARE JUST BULLYING TRIBETWELVE!" [editline]26th August 2011[/editline] If you seriously have a problem with the fact that most of us dislike TribeTwelve, there's always Slender Nation and Unfiction you could go to.
Well, fuck me in the ass for liking tribe twelve.

And sure, your arguments are legitimate, except that no one ever bitched about TribeTwelve being bad, short of the acting, until you and the issue with Noah, or whatever his name is in real life, came up, then all of a sudden the series is absolute shit. That's the bandwagon. Either people were hiding their dislike of the series, or this is a bandwagon. And yea, you guys are just bullying TT. EverymanHYBRID did take a fair amount from MH, primarily distortion, the general idea for the vlog-Slenderman that did not exist before MH, and smaller things such as sickness of the characters, mind-control type stuff, 'hidden videos', a proxy-like entity, etc, etc. It has the same basic mechanics. The plot has obviously evolved far beyond MH, obviously, but it takes directly from, or modifies the basic ideas, used by MH. I don't see any anger towards DH, which is practically an MH clone, or at least if put lightly, it uses everything from MH and has no originality. Nor do I see anything towards MLA, which is slow paced, uneventful, and hasn't furthered the plot any with the exception that Michael went nutso. He went from being a scizo to a crazy psychopath, and nothing else happened, even though the series has been going for a long time. So yea, other series do have their downsides, I just find it way too convenient that one second everyone's fine with all the major series, then all of a sudden TribeTwelve is shit and nobody likes it, and constantly bitches at it because of the acting and lack of creativity, when there are series out there that are just as bad that are praised or are accepted as being better under the excuses that "well they keep you guessing" or "they throw in twists". Fars I'm concerned, TT is perfectly fine, or at least as well off as the rest of the big 5. Now it's just "Shit on TribeTwelve every other page: The thread". I don't come to this thread to discuss the same issue of bickering between one forum member and a few creators, and then sit through a page of hating on TT and the series creators, and jizzing on their faces or something, which always seems to follow or lead to the bickering issue. I want to discuss bloody Slender Man, and the content of the newest ARG videos. And the thing was, none of this existed until this business between you and the creators over this Slendercon thing was brought up. Yea, I agree with you, I don't like the idea of a crossover. I don't like the series that much. Yea, from what you've said they acted immature and stupid. But I'm tired of bloody hearing about it. I got it the first time the issue was brought up. I'm tired of seeing the same discussion over TT every few pages, broken up only by short discussions or a new MH video. Also, Grim, I love you.
Well spoken. I just did it to poke small fun. Dunno about everyone else.

The creator is one step away from this Add that to the fact that the series has always been shoddy, and eventually a provocation is going to make everyone explode.
Well, fuck me in the ass for liking tribe twelve.
Okay.
My college has a big film program and I know a bunch of people who are into MH. I'm thinking about writing up some ideas for scripts of a style similar to MH (not necessarily involving Slender Man) and seeing what we can do with a college campus. The whole no-budget-Blair-Witch approach of the various Slender Man videos has a certain appeal. Should I go for it, or is it overdone and beaten to death already?
Don't do Slender Man
Don't use Slender Man if you're doing the whole Blair Witch sort of thing.
Yeah, I'd avoid Slender Man unless you're going to stick to the original mythos and just make it very short or something. Slender Man is kind of done to death right now. I didn't really mean to start any kind of bandwagon or hate group or anything of the sort. I didn't think people's opinions on the legitimate series would be swayed so strongly just because of the bad blood between myself and the creators. I do genuinely dislike TribeTwelve, but I don't think it should die or it's unsalvageable shit or anything. I just think it has a lot of issues that it isn't really solving, or attempting to solve to my knowledge. Love you too baby.
You've been watching MarbleHornets without taking a look at the ToTheArk videos? What is wrong with you?
I watched like the first four back when I watched Marble Hornets. I never actually cared about Slender Man aside from the creepy until recently.
Hey guys, new idea for a thread rule. How about everybody is nice to each other and we don't make passive aggressive comments?
Sounds like a great plan. Too lazy to find the quotes but regarding the TT-Hatewagon, I only watched the first three or four submissions and I stopped. I'll probably still watch the rest later on, but honestly, seeing bad acting gives me a headache. What with being a Theatre kid. [editline]today[/editline] Oh and don't do Slender Man. You'll regret it in the morning.
this.
Is this a positive this?
Is this a positive this?
Yes, I'm Drama/Theater so bad-acting makes me cringe to fuck and back
Yes, I'm Drama/Theater so bad-acting makes me cringe to fuck and back
Woo, Theatre! But anyways, onto the topic, did anyone want that binary translated? I can download the video and start on that here in a bit when I'm done with some schoolwork. Again, not sure if I had read it right but it looked like that hadn't been solved. Which I find interesting fact being that the episode's not that recent.
I was in an acting program and played a lead in a semi-big production with a bunch of my friends who are also really good actors (almost all better than me). I tried my best and ended up getting lots of good feedback. I say this so people don't go "WELL YOU CAN'T ACT EITHER". Based on what I've seen, I can act. So yeah, it really made me cringe to see people in my Drama class act in exercises. And then, when it came time to act with other students, I had to tone down myself.
