I would say Lovecraft. Slenderman is small and was created on the internet. It's a little bit weaker and lacks the amount of credibility that Lovecraft will have. Just my opinion, at least.
Also, if anyone likes your presentation and goes and looks up Slender Man, they'll probably think "wow this is a lot of bullshit."
There's a lot more quality in the Lovecraft mythos than the Slender Man Mythos, to be honest.

Funny enough, the first year the instructor was teaching, someone was doing their speech on heroine junkies, and he was showing an example on how they shoot themselves up, and pulled out a syringe, tied his arm, etc, and actually injected himself infront of everyone like it was nothing. Ends up he was a diabetic and was just injecting insulin, but freaked everyone out.
Anyhow, I guess I'm doing Lovecraft then.

Yeah. That was the definitive "shit just got real" moment in MH. There's been a bit too many attempts at replicating that sort of effect in season 2, imo. Still cool though.
