Log driving is nice, the early hours are the worst part imo though.
I admire the logdrivers, picking up matchsticks here and there everywhere in the forrest and the descriptions they sometimes get of the spots are like "yeah theres a house, a bush and then a little to the left of the last mailbox two miles away" Like, What?
Maybe that, or there may not be any good ones to bring back? The transportation business is so damn dead here at the moment... I currently drive a logtruck, so waiting for good winter and there might be something to do, but everything else is so damn dead
Because the ferries are so overbooked so that I would just spend so much time in the harbour and I'm currently driving concrete elements to construction sites around Stockholm. There's a huge difference in loggers, some who just drive major gravelroads from big tear downs that gets loaded by a separte loader and those who make the small pick-ups on along small trails and load them selves on really narrow areas.

Snowchains can be used even if not snow, but because of stupid mud. Challenging

Yeah, great, it's 100% rigid with no crumple zones. Even a minor impact will have your head bouncing around like a pinball.
Just when you talk about it, I got to make a trip to Finland this week, loaded in Sandviken and unloaded at Tampere, a old car wash from a gas station going back to it's factory to be stripped down and renovated.
Last saturday (December 20th) a large protest by Swedens truckers were held all around the nation to show the dislike about the current state of the business.
