You're talking two different classes, and cheating with the last one there, with the lowering and rims. We have about seven or eight classes of truck, and the Scania up there would class at a class-6 heavy mover, while the Ford F-150 classes as a class-1 light truck. If it's of body-on-frame construction, sits higher than a sedan, and has 4-wheel drive or rear wheel drive, it can usually class as a truck.
I'm not cheating, americans just think they are the shit driving small cars and calling themselves truck drivers.
I want to see a american trying to navigate the normal 25.25 meter truck that's normal in europe. Or if we go to australia where they got to like 45 meters in combination
[editline]15th February 2014[/editline]
Sure, even in europe they require C license to drive american shitboxes, but wheres the point when you can do CE combination license and haul 76 tonnes

I say you were cheating with the F-150 because of the car wheels and suspension. A normal F-150 looks like this:
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3c/1999-2001_Ford_F-150_Extended_Cab.JPG[/t]
Note the stock suspension and wheels. Most of them are work trucks. As for the assumption about people thinking they're big shit for driving light trucks? Some of them, yeah, would fall into that group. Others, like myself, own light trucks out of necessity due to work and the decaying infrastructure and road salts, which tear up unibody cars and put them in scrapyards faster than anywhere outside the rust belt.
Only thing I have ever used a 4x4 pickup for was to tow a 1000liter fuel container or a caravan to a forest
[editline]15th February 2014[/editline]
Plus most of the time we took the fuel container with the actual truck, in the forest machine.
I love how quickly opaali gets butthurt as fuck about trucks in america in like every thread here.
classy.
if someone is butthurt i'm quite sure it isn't me
you're the only one making a stink about it
I'm know for having to drink a 18 pack of beer and a .7liter vodka bottle and even then I wasn't butthurt, I went home to drink more beer

Look yo.
I regularly drive a 1ton ford with a 40ft gooseneck.
And TRUST ME its just like driving a 18 wheeler with a 53ft flat bed.
Gotta take the same cornering paths and everything.
But I will agree on one side note people that buy TRUCKS and don't use them to their capability are dick muchers anywho.
Can we stop arguing about what is and is not a truck?
[QUOTE=Trekintosh;43917415]Can we stop arguing about what is and is not a truck?[/QUOTE]
It's deftly a motor vehicle.
Or better yet, a form of transportation of heavy loads.

I always find it amazing that something that [I]huge[/I] can move on land without collapsing under its own weight.

Freshly washed 2012 F-150 Lariat 5.0 Supercrew with a 5ft bed and Snugtop shell. It's entertaining to drive something that large and that fast.
I was going through some of my old models recently and remembered that I'd made a K5 Blazer. That got me thinking of how I really got into trucks as a kid, since my family owned one for about 15 years or so. It was a Scottsdale Blazer, like this:
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8f/Chevrolet_K5_Blazer_.jpg[/t]
I grew up around that big old thing, and I came to love it dearly. Admittedly it wasn't even that great of a truck: it was as bare-bones as can be, the power rear window broke a ton, and it had a few other issues that later vehicles we'd eventually acquire would be rid of. But god damn was it amazing, even with all of those flaws. I still love the low rumble of its 350 small block V8, which still lives on in our Suburban plow truck today. I love the styling of that generation too: it was big and butch, but it didn't overdo it like trucks of today.
Those had a rad style to them. Tough to beat an old cheby.
My Kenworth W900 2012, my uncle own a truck line company and hired me right when i got my Class 1 permit.

That is one fancy-ass truck, man! Semis are the best. I'm thinking about perusing a career in trucking.
What do all those gauges tell you?
Turbo PSI, % of engine torque, Fuel/air filter status, brake pressure, Air tank (2) pressure, DEF liquid capacity and status, oil temp and a bunch more, theres a few more behind the steering wheel, i dont even need most of them.
The engine is a paccar mx-13 with 18 speed, it count 500hp and 1850lbs torque, i shouldnt have to tell how thirsty they are.
what is the NOT FOR PARKING stick for
[editline]24th February 2014[/editline]
i assume it's not for parking
