Cheap Heroin Substitute Which Makes You Shed Flesh - General

This reminds me of the movie cabin fever. This just made me think thrice before put any new drug I have never heard of in my body.

What in the fuck.... I don't care how badly anybody craves heroin or something similar it is downright disgusting to let your body deteriorate to the bone. Hopefully Russia takes action to get rid of stuff like this.

What's sad is that as soon as the desomorphine is made they inject the entire unpurified mixtue (Iodine, lighter fluid, industrial cleaning oils and all) into their bodies. If they had some way to purify the final product it wouldn't be so bad.

Ah, I see now, after some research it turns out the drug itself does not cause your flesh to rot, it's the impurities that come from the poorly synthesized, homemade versions of it. The same thing happens to meth and heroin injectors who inject impure product. Still, the withdrawals sound fucking awful. I don't understand why they don't just cold water extract some codeine instead. You don't lose your fucking limbs due to fucked up synthesis, for one, and you don't have to experience the shitty heroin withdrawals.

The drug is made from codeine in a similar process to how methamphetamine is made from pseudoephedrine. Both involve a crude extraction from OTC tablets. Maybe clean reagents and solvents are difficult to get in Russia? Doubt it, but these people can't afford it. Krokodil, on the other hand is cooked right before it is injected, and as quickly as possible, by a doped out heroin addict whose possibly going through withdrawals. From what I have gathered, necrosis of the flesh does not occur in pharmaceutical grade Desomorphine. That's just what happens when you inject fucking solvents and shit such as iodine, red phosphorous, etc into your body. It rots away.

This is literally the saddest thing I've ever read. I have a pretty good picture of eastern European slums, and I knew they were filled with heroin addicts, but this shit takes it to another level. Heroin-esque withdrawals for a [i]month[/i]? That'd be impossible to bear without killing yourself or getting professional tranquilization (as the article suggests). Worst I've exerpienced is dilaudid withdrawal and while that was more painful than any other experience in my life, I can't even begin to IMAGINE what I would've done if that had lasted an entire month. From my point of view, anyone who injects this shit knows they're going to die soon anyway because of their addiction, or because of their general lifestyle. I don't think anyone puts this shit in their body with the expectation that they're going to come out the other side of the tunnel. If I were going through heroin withdrawal, I'd much rather use CWE to get the pure codeine from the tablets and use that to stave off withdrawals until I can score heroin again. You know, as opposed to rotting my arm off with homebrew pretend-heroin. Sure, it won't get you high because all opiates have cross-tolerance, but it WILL decrease or eliminate the worst of the withdrawal symptoms.
