I suppose I could bring up John Titor.
Back in 2000, some guy on some forums went around, talking about how he's from a post apocalyptic future--where the United States is split up into five states after civil war over "order and rights" ravages the nation. By 2015, Russia starts nuclear attacks on the US, China, and Europe, but is also hit in the ferocious counter attack. Living in small farming communities across the world, and living out of the "Fort", former University of Florida, he reminisces about his time in the war at the age of 13.
He made numerous predictions: Increased prevalence of Mad Cow disease, the termination of the olympics after 2004, a large scale wave of terrorism, a civil war raging in 2005 to about 2008, and pretty much a bunch of other crap.

Yeah, a hoax, but it does get you to think quite a bit.
That guy was awesome. What a really loved was when he posted diagrams of the alleged time machine thingy which happened to have an x-ray vent on it (obviously to keep the occupants from... dying) and the first thing that anyone saw in it was its potential as a weapon. That made my day... on that particular day... that particular day on which I read about it.
Also apparently people believe in this crap.

Also is 72826, which was started by our beloved Tool.

665
656
667
etc
all of the "number of the beast" numbers that i've seen are 3 digit and have a 6.
Here's the story about the pterodactyl and a bunch of other strange snippets, including a section about how toads can get trapped in coal.

Yeah I just love that. It's just so mysterious. So eerie.
Dyatlov Pass Incident
The Dyatlov Pass incident refers to a mysterious event that resulted in the deaths of nine ski hikers in the northern Ural mountains. The incident happened on the night of February 2, 1959 on the east shoulder of the mountain Kholat Syakhl (Холат Сяхл) (a Mansi name, meaning Mountain of the Dead). The mountain pass where the accident occurred has been named Dyatlov Pass (Перевал Дятлова) after the group's leader, Igor Dyatlov (Игорь Дятлов).
The mysterious circumstances and subsequent investigations of the hikers' deaths have inspired much speculation. Investigations of the deaths suggest that the hikers tore open their tent from within, departing barefoot in heavy snow; while the corpses show no signs of struggle, one victim had a fractured skull, two had broken ribs, and one was missing her tongue. The victims' clothing contained high levels of radiation. Soviet investigators determined only that "a compelling unknown force" had caused the deaths, barring entry to the area for years thereafter. The causes of the accident remain unclear.

Strange, Not Well Known, Scary, and it takes place in Russia, this story generally scares me, you should read the remainder of the article on the wiki page. This is some fucked up shit, seriously.

Does anyone know any scary secret government projects?
I'm just creating side levels for my mod, the Dyatlov Pass Accient has already been created. I just need some new stuff.

You need a Roswell thing where you're an uninformed soldier being driven through the desert to a flying saucer crash site (if you haven't already).
And I am glad to see this thread back, surprisingly there's lots of stuff in here I haven't heard before.
Just thought of another, have a visiting from the Men in Black :uhoh:.
Except make it awesome with the intimidatingness of them.
For that "Hell is real" video, when they talked about those worms at the bottom of the sea, that's just bullshit. There are also crabs and shrimps living down there in the same places too. What about them? Are they some kind of demon crustacean living near Hell or something? Also, those screams could easily be faked. They could've recorded some screaming during some riot or something. And, since Hell is on Earth, where the fuck is Heaven? At the beginning about that patient going to Hell, maybe he was trying to prevent himself from dying. Maybe he was so scared, he thought that he would go to Hell when he dies. Who knows.
Here's a picture of those worms if you are interested.

Doesn't look Hellish. They look cute.
Don't say they look like penises.
Those worms looks like sucker sticks with wax lips on them.
My closet.

Actually, if you look at them closely they look more like vaginas. Unless that's just me.
They showed all kinds of stuff like that on the BBC documentary "The Blue Planet". Good docu that was.
I'm reading this during the 11th hour. :v:
:sigh:
Awesome, the thread's back. Couldn't bump it because I was the last poster. I've got to go to work, but when I get back, I'll post some more stuff out of that book. Any requests(monsters, spontaneous combustion, disappearances, stuff like that)?
This is a great time for my scanner to break isn't it, it won't put the scanned images onto my computer. I found my book with all sorts of strange tales as well.
Bermuda Triangle.
Needs more monsters.
I read about that Beast Of Bodwin, very creepy.
post MORE SCARY SHIIT
I would go get some monsters and crap for you guys, but this thread has scared the shit out of me. I'll do it tomorrow.
Here is something I do when something jumps out and scares me:
I jump like anybody would, but I point and speak gibberish for a second or two all on instinct... the people at Halloween horror nights thought I was insane...
I read about him, he made couches out of people's skin... creepy.
I do that too, I don't play Doom 3 with my friends anymore.
