I don't know why everyones so puzzled by the Dylatov Pass thing. The tongue thing was just the shear impact and force of the avalanche causing her to bite her own tongue off.
Dude her tongue was gone. It wasn't bitten, it was gone. I doubt that on accident you could stick out your tounge so far out as to bite the whole thing off.
My Dyatlov Pass incident theroy, While they where sleeping they heard a large sound outside which sounded like an avalanche. Being in panic, the cut their way out of their tents and left the camp to get away from the avalanche. Being partially clothed due to them fleeing in panic, they died of hypothermia. The bodys may have been searched through by scavengers who ate the woman's tongue (being probably the only permeable and edible part on the frozen cadabre) and may have broken some bones. The members who died from fatal injuries may have tried to ascend the mountain to look for a way to get back to the camp (provided they where lost), and abruptly fell down the mountain. Being high up may have led to radiation since the atmosphere at those heights is thinner. Edit: Does this remind anyone else of that mountain in Oblivion where those adventurers where killed by the Troll queen thing?
I've read that it wasn't just the tongue that was gone, but that it was basically the entire oral cavity. The fleshy part under your tongue that fills in the gap that your jaw bone doesn't, and everything else. Oh, and radiation doesn't work that way. Your body doesn't get exposed to high-energy cosmic rays and 'store' it, emitting it later. By radioactive they mean like... like radioactive dust. Dust littered with alpha and beta particles.
This is a declassified list of all U.S. nuclear accidents http://www.dod.gov/pubs/foi/reading_room/21.pdf They go into detail about stuff that would "embarrass" the government. They talk about lost nukes and where they are believed to be, coverups. There are incidents where nuclear fallout is vented into the atmosphere from tests and where the winds blew. But one catches my eye: skip to page 34 Out of all the accidents, why is this one still classified? all you know is the season, year, and that it happened somewhere in the vast atlantic. What could have possibly happened that the government still wants to keep secret?

Its a theory. Its probably wrong.
...It was during the Cold War.
Exactly, the movie was in production for that long.
Anyone listened to Revolution 9 Backmask (backwards) by The Beatles? "Revolution 9" played an important part in the infamous "Paul is dead" controversy. Most notably, the repeated "number nine" played backwards can be heard as "Turn me on, dead man." Various snippets of speech included in the recording were heard as hints left by the band about Paul's alleged death.
I made a mess.
I was about to say "Duuuude! There was a thread just like this a while back!" Then, I saw the date.
I don't know why everyones so puzzled by the Dylatov Pass thing. The tongue thing was just the shear impact and force of the avalanche causing her to bite her own tongue off.
And the sheer force of the avalance also caused their tent to not be buried in snow
http://www.cracked.com/article_16671_6-famous-unsolved-mysteries-with-really-obvious-solutions.html
The Obvious Answer: So there's six things that freak people out about this one: 1. The no-tongued woman 2. A mysterious orange tan on the dead bodies 3. The ripped tents 4. The hikers' lack of clothing 5. The crushing damage done to three of the hikers 6. The traces of radioactivity The big fact that gets lost in the re-telling of this story is that the bodies weren't found until weeks later. It's not like somebody turned their back, then five minutes later all their friends were dead and half naked. That makes the missing tongue a lot easier to explain. As disturbing as it may be, the first thing a scavenging animal is going to go for is probably the soft tissue of an open mouth, especially if it still smelled like the burrito the hiker just ate. Laying out in the sun surrounded by white snow for days also accounts for the weird tan. The trauma and the destroyed tent points to an avalanche. Their state of undress can be explained by paradoxical undressing, a known behavior of hypothermia victims when their brains start to freeze and malfunction. In other words, it's the kind of behavior you'd expect from a group of injured avalanche victims wandering around in the middle of the night in the freezing cold. What about the radioactivity? Or stranger details that turn up in some accounts, like orange lights in the sky? Well, there's the fact that none of that stuff turns up in the original documents from the incident, and appears to have been added later by people who just can't resist making things spookier than they are.
It's no mystery really.
Did you know that crop circles are actually done by farmers?
Except you forgot that the grass and plants aren't exactly flattened down, but actually chemically changed to be in that shape. It's heated up to some really hot temperature and pressed down, and instantly cooled or something like that, though I don't exactly remember the procedure. What they have proven though, is that the plants aren't just bent down, but cellularly changed Crop circles aren't exactly all hoaxes either, as some type of grass (forgot the name) was known to be involved in some crop circles, but the grass itself is very brittle, and any known procedure would've broken it like celery And remember, it's been sighted that entire crop circles have been made in these fields in only seconds, which if was true means that no human could've done this

There was a video where it was some army/military guys (Non american) and they were outside and they heard, as I can remember, screaming? And then they saw a white figure in the distance and then the video ended. I can't remember what it was, but it was on YouTube,
And remember, it's been sighted that entire crop circles have been made in these fields in only seconds, which if was true means that no human could've done this
If you're referring to this it was faked. Never seen it, actually. What I mentioned was some article that was telling about some guy who witnessed a crop circle being formed. I usually never believe these sightings, though I put it in there for reference anyway The video is pretty interesting though, even if it was faked

A video expert was commenting on how the guy was saying "Oh this is amazing." and other dull shit as this incredible event (according to him at least) happened before his eyes. [editline]02:40AM[/editline] It's 2:40 what am I doing god dammit
Edit: Does this remind anyone else of that mountain in Oblivion where those adventurers where killed by the Troll queen thing?
Oh jesus that part freaked me out. I pick up a note, talks about the troll monster, etc. I think, oh thats cool. I put it away, and look to my left. And there it is just running at me. I shat my pants. I shot fireballs at it for 20 minutes because I was still early in the game. Oh god.
That theory was disproved multiple times in the original thread.
and what basis was it disproven? seems like the most solid theory. Protip: the word "aliens", "unknown forces" or anything similar cannot be included in a conclusive rebuttal.
How about God? That's a often humours myth.
We can't let this die!

Here's a mystery! Was my ex-girlfriend cheating on me? Or did my undeserved rant about her possibly cheating on me drive her away? Either way, I didn't trust her.
Not sure if it's been posted, but Gloomy Sunday is a pretty weird one Basically, some guy was dumped by his girlfriend or something, and just went home to write a song and sat down at the piano. He couldn't think of anything, and it started raining. He looked out his window and was suddenly inspired to play. He wrote a song and titled it, "Gloomy Sunday" The first publishers he met with wouldn't accept the song because it, "Had a really depressing sound to it", but the second company liked it enough to license it Suicides all over the country began happening. Many were found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head with the gun in one hand, and the Gloomy Sunday record in the other. One man begged a someone to play it over the radio, and he finally agreed. The same man later committed suicide that night. Many more were said (But I forgot them) The man found out that his ex-girlfriend bought the record at the store and went home to listen to it. He later found out that she killed herself that night and was found with the Gloomy Sunday record in her hands Apparently the record has such a depressing sound to it that these suicides were inspired. Apparently you can find the song online too, but I don't know for sure tl;dr - Gloomy Sunday is such a depressing song that it causes suicide

I liked it too, I haven't killed myself yet though which is funny as I should be a prime target, with clinical depression. I still need to find an MP3 of it.
Gloomy Sunday probably sounds rather jolly compared to most of the music we get these days.
Can someone please give me a quick run through on the whole Cthulhu thing?
Yes.
