You know. The series had the chance. It had the chance to make a huge fucking over-arc and mindfuck of tying in with the Marathon universe, because of all the similarities they share. There were even little nods and hints to such a thing. And instead, we get fucking anime butterfly robot.

Let's face it, the original Halo series ended when 343 took over. Bungie had made a fantastic job, even with Reach.

Reach added nothing like perks. You had the armor abilities, but it wasn't until Halo 4 that 343 added passive effects like faster reloading and the likes.

I thought Reach was fine. It was a nice prequel and I'm pretty sure it was a book before it was a game. The book predated the other halo games even. Still don't understand why brutes were in Reach but not in Halo CE. Whatever I guess.

Halo couldn't be a Marathon tie in now even if it wanted to, since Bungie owns the rights to Marathon, not 343.
Just seems easy for everyone to jump on the "343 is fucking over Halo" bandwagon.
So far I've seen no gameplay, the lore has always been there so 343 aren't exactly fucking with it apart from piecing it together.. so I see no problem with this... apart from the kinda anime styled Forerunner.. but it still looks cool! xD
Sure, its not "Believe" ad campaign, but it gave me a small chill when I saw Master Chief's hand and knew it was him!
It'll never be as good as when Bungie had it.. but I could think of much worse companies that could be holding Halo's future in their hands. *cougheacoughinfinitywardcoughlolcough*

I've played it since Halo: Combat Evovled.
And trust me.... I HATE HALO 4! The campaign was too short, the multiplayer was DREADFUL and Spartan Ops was a firefight with less waves.. and more shit.
But... it wasn't that bad a game. I guess it was playable for the 4 months that I did play it.. and even though short, I did kinda enjoy the story.
My point being is that everyone seems to be thinking that its just Microsoft fucking over Halo, when in reality multiple employees from Bungie moved over to 343 to continue working on Halo (such as Frank Miller? if thats even his name xD) so it's still some of the same team working on it.
Trust me when I say as a hardcore Halo fan... HALO 4 IS NOT HALO! :)

Looking at this, and then watching the old Starry night pre-release video for 3 made me seriously want to cry.
I played the very first Halo game almost eleven years ago to the date (I was 10), and nothing would get me more excited than a new glimpse of my favorite game series.
Now, a week before my 21st birthday, I see this after hoping that maybe, it would surprise me. Instead we get to see Master Chief, looking somewhat battle damaged, doing his best Jedi Impression going off against fucking Meta Ridley or some shit in a desert.
Now I'm considering trading in Halo 4 towards the Last Of Us and keeping Halo 1-ODST for nostalgia, and to remember when to me atleast, the last chance mankind had wasn't a joke.
