There's a doctor of sorts in Switzerland (I believe) that treats people with various psychological disorders (schizophrenia included) with LSD. He claims to have had legitimate success with his therapy/treatment.
you don't have to stop smoking, no ones forcing you to.
it will be hard at first but after a week or so maybe longer you will be absolutely fine.
or you could just not listen to your psychologist, you are in control of what you put in your body
THC is known to aggravate symptoms of schizophrenia.
Indica-dominant strains (More CBD than THC) can be therapeutic, but it would definitely be best to stay away from Sativa-dominant strains (More THC than CBD)
I'd have to mildly disagree based on the research I have done over the past year about Schizophrenia and Weed. Sure, there's correlation. Causation? Nah? All it takes is a quick read on Wikipedia to see that Schizophrenics are more likely to smoke (~70%) cigarettes than normal people. Scientists believe the small and rather immediate effect on Dopamine that Nicotine has (controversial but accepted widely by drug users including me) provides benefits to people suffering Schizophrenia. Who is to say that they do not get the same Dopanergic theraputic effect from Weed? It sure acts on Dopamine receptors! This is all speculation but my theory goes like this (although this theory is strongly adapted by the works of many authors on Wikipedia and Bluelight, my personal favourite sources for anecdotal evidence apart from erowid.org however erowid is far too sparingly controversial that I have to turn to other sites for this stuff sometimes) Fuck that was a big bracket!
Anyway. My theory is as follows:
People with Schiphrenia always had Schizophrenia and they develop an addiction to smoking as they love how it affects their Dopamine receptors (whether inhibitory or excitary is up for debate. I'm gonna go for excitary based on my experience as a transient Nicotine user with weed.) Now. If you smoke, you're most likely gonna want to light up with something with a little more "kick" and what do you know, weed provides that kick. Thus the theory that Schizophrenia is casually linked to Marijuana is born. The last nail in the propaganda machine that is prohibition is hammered in. Of course I'm not saying Marijuana is not capable of potentiating panic attacks. I've witnessed a friend have panic attacks but he smoked Tobacco first and his panic attacks are completely irrational unlike the one I've experienced which at least had a feasible rationality and I was remarkably clear-headed throughout although my chest was going crazy.
So as you may have guessed. I'm pro-legalization like all of you. But perhaps we should not even accept the little evidence that prohibition has imprinted on our minds and think for a few seconds. Do some searches yourself. The fact that "stronger strains" allegedly circulate around Britain. Why has Schizophrenia rates not increased. Either way. The BBC are wrong in one way or another. Shame really, as I always appreciated them as an unbiased news source. I guess they were long gone though.
Right. There's my theory. Should have posted it in another thread but we have enough pro-legalization bullshit around already. I certainly have enough threads. Any comments? I've been interested in getting into drug politics recently however it's early days. Making a real difference to a similar scale to the Slave Trade would certainly be interesting. Before your jaw drops at my comparison, please read carefully: Yes, it's like the slave trade. Imprisoning many innocent people, making them work. For something they cannot control. I don't see how it differs. Sure. People get themselves into addiction but there are cases where babies are born with an addiction to Heroin (due to a mother's somewhat selfish however understandable predicament) and that will maybe kindle later in life to a full-on addiction. They didn't really have any more control over being addicted to Heroin/Alcohol (more common and understable addiction which my mum exhibits as a result of my gran's alcoholism whilst pregnant) than someone in Africa had about being African which essentially what the slavetrade was about. Oh yeah. Gotta remember prisons are privatized in America too. Yes. Capitialism fucking works dun't it. NOT.
Butylone stimulation is still riding on home. It's positive in the sense that I have a lot to say and am thinking fast. But I don't feel as though I'd like to channel that energy into university work which is what I've been looking for lately. Anyway. I leave you. Once again.
You need psys
What do you think OP? Are you willing to risk worsening your condition? Bear in mind that it might do the exact opposite, it might help a ton. But what will you risk?
...I wouldn't risk it, no... My condition(s) is/are extremely troubling and I would do nearly anything to get better, or at least to lessen the symptoms and their effects on my life. Normally I'd go ahead and take a risk, but this is my own health we're talking about.

...Psychedelics? Why's that?
Of course your psychiatrist won't recommend Weed for helping you. He's in a medical profession and I'm pretty sure they're not allowed to suggest potentially harmful things.
if weed helps you then go for it but don't over-do it. Perhaps limit yourself to once a week.
Do what xxFoxxx said.
Meditation is the best method.
But if you still want to smoke you should smoke hash or some other weed strain with a high indica factor. Indica strains are far less psychedelic then sativa strains.

They won't show up on standard tests.

I don't think that is the good reason to use psyches...
Haha
Weed is one of the worst drugs in terms of testing. It stays in your system for 28 days. Other drugs, such as coke/opiates, E, LSD, etc all leave your system in a matter of days.
Last week i had 0.2g of weed (HEAPS for my standard) and i felt like absolute shit after it.
I semt to be talking to myself more often in my head and felt like i was going to go insane.
Which concludes to me that it's definately not good for your mental health.
But when i finish school i'm going to give weed a huge break and probably not smoke it for 5 or so years.

That's why people hit the hard drugs on the weekends instead of smoking some harmless weed.

Unfortunately you might be one of the few who it just doesn't agree with. The most common complaint for those in this circumstance is paranoia and anxiety (feeling of going insane and talking to yourself are signs of both extreme paranoia and anxiety).
Most folks however, when they smoke feel a familiar euphoric and relaxed sensation.

Yeah, that's what I would do if I cared about drug testing. It almost never happens in Vancouver.

Yea, during it i felt euphoric and very relaxed. But a few hours after it wore off, i felt like going insane.
And today something happened at school, i was told i was staring right at it when it happened, and i totally forgot it, it completely blanked from my mind 5 seconds after it happened.

Life's a bitch aint it.
Here's my ten-cents, Become independent of weed for your psychiatric conditions. For example, I have /serious/ anger issues from being picked on most of my life, And for a while I used weed like a crutch, To chill me out and keep me from being so confrontational, And that was alright, For a while.
It sort of showed me that I could be chill, And I guess that was part of me changing how I reacted sober, But at some point I felt like I needed the weed, And that was bad, So I quit for about two months to chill out and find myself, And I started back on weed after I felt comfortable being sober again, After I felt similarly chilled out, And now weed's more than just a crutch, Y'know? It's fun again.
i've became much more calm and laid-back, and much less neurotic since i starting smoking weed, even when i'm sober.
Well.. last night I was chilling with a girl and she had weed with her... a lot of weed. Smoking weed with a hot girl? I... couldn't resist...
Keep in mind I MIGHT be schizo, and I haven't had any audial hallucinations in 4 months... Did I just fuck up? :ohdear:
Shit, I can't really give you an advice but it must suck... I can't smoke for 2 weeks from now on and it's a big-step for me. It's basically pausing a big habit.

It's because we don't want to see that faggot, and would prefer never to see or think about that kid, and you thrust him right in front of our eyes.
