Awesome.
How much would it be to get there from Denmark?
Aarhus specifically.
Aarhus specifically.
No idea what it costs. You need to get to Oslo Gardermoen Airport, from there to Oslo Central Station, and from there take the train to Hamar. Or any other fancy combination of places you need to go through.
US here, considering going! I've got 5 months to save and I've always wanted to go, I figure $2k or so should do the trick. Is $4k NOK considered a lot of money?

I'm unsure about what the plane tickets are though.

Shit's expensive mate, but 4000 NOK should definitely be good enough for a week. Cheapest I've seen a burger at MacDonalds anywhere (there are none close by though) is 10 NOK, which is $1.76351. (And that's regarded as pretty cheap here).

I'm pretty sure that'd be overkill.
3100,- will definitely last you the whole event. I suggest you buy a food ticket ahead of time though (it's like 300-400NOK or something). Gives you dinner and breakfast three of the days you're there (not the day you arrive and the day you leave).
I usually don't buy a lot of stuff so i go home with most of the money i brought there.
It's definitely plausible for me to attend then... it'll take some consideration as it would be a massive undertaking, do any of you guys going speak english?
We all speak English. We learn it in school.
It's definitely plausible for me to attend then... it'll take some consideration as it would be a massive undertaking, do any of you guys going speak english?
Well, they've been communicating on a forum using english. I'd say it's a safe assumption that they do. [editline]1st November 2011[/editline] :ninja:
Well damn, this would be really awesome. I'll mull it over the next couple weeks and start saving if I decide to go.
Well damn, this would be really awesome. I'll mull it over the next couple weeks and start saving if I decide to go.
Though be prepared if you do go, there are those who are not exactly that great at it.

So it's like a big internet convention almost? I'd love to go, but tickets from California to Norway probably cost a fortune.
So it's like a big internet convention almost? I'd love to go, but tickets from California to Norway probably cost a fortune.
That, and I don't like the idea of bringing my rig all the fucking way to Norway.
That, and I don't like the idea of bringing my rig all the fucking way to Norway.
Baggage fees... fucking airports. I wish there was a boat that went there.
I can get a round trip flight to Oslo from CLT for $200. There's $500 in taxes and fees though, ugh
It makes me sad that I probably will never be able to make it to this event, and that there aren't any like this one in my area.
Me and a buddy always wanted to go there. Damn.
I can get a round trip flight to Oslo from CLT for $200. I'm looking at going with 2 of my buddies from here in the US, and it's coming out to around $700 per person for round-trip flights, which I don't consider to be too expensive.
There's hot water available. Microwaves, water heaters and such aren't allowed because they suck electricity and make your entire row go dark.
There is a place where you can use water heaters and microwaves. Also, for the best experience. Think out of the box. Or bad things will happen and you will have a shit experience. Go to sleep before midnight, at around 1 you can't find a place to sleep. Security collects mattresses and sleeping gear if it's just there and put it in a blue container outside. It's free for all to grab. Don't sit in the party zone, sit in the quiet or hardware zone. Really. Wake up really early before they do the "HEY GUYZ WAKE UP *banana phone* on the speakers", if you do, there's hot water in the showers. Not many people use the toilets near the ATM at the back end of the ship(or is it front?). It's not a clusterfuck. Don't waste money on the pizza or the burgers. They're shit and cost a lot. Drink water, get at least 7 hours of sleep every day, don't sit at your computer and play video games all the time. It's a party, go around and enjoy it.

By the main entrance there's a toilet that always has huge queues, but if you take the stairs up on the spectator area, and walk about 20-40meters, there's a smaller toilet which almost nobody uses. Don't tell anyone. And TehWhale, OSL is the closest international airport, but you need to get to Oslo and from there to Hamar, so you have to check train tickets. And remember that you need to bring your own computer.
$725 to go by myself, from CLT to OSL (closest international airport, I believe)
Is that round trip? Or just to get there. If it's round trip that's not too expensive at all, considering it's an 9+ hour flight.
Is that round trip? Or just to get there. If it's round trip that's not too expensive at all, considering it's an 9+ hour flight.
Round trip, yep. If I had that kind of money I would probably go but considering I only get paid $250 per two weeks or so, that's not too viable.
