The Gathering 2012: At The End Of The Universe - Computer Party

Eh, maybe I'll consider Gathering 2015, 2016 or 2017.
Can't be that long of a drive from where I live.
.. 904km...
This route includes a ferry.
This route crosses through Sweden.
That's like what, a day worth of driving or so?

I'd love to go, visit norway and a bitching lan party all in one go but the entry price is a bit steep, i know no one who's going and i'd have to spend an eternity (and a fortune) on trains to get there, might as well just go to dreamhack.

On the bright side.
You have spiders to keep you company.
Good tips.
By the main entrance there's a toilet that always has huge queues, but if you take the stairs up on the spectator area, and walk about 20-40meters, there's a smaller toilet which almost nobody uses.

"The Facepunch Toilet"
Only we know.
I'd love to attend something like this, plenty of time to save up. But I'd probably get lost and eaten by a bear if I went on my own.
Wow... I wish I could go there, it looks really nice.
I would like to go in some years (probably 2013 or 2014). I have been looking at everything(i just can't help planning everything) and noticed once problem. I would like to travel by plane but how am i supposed to take my computer with me? How have others managed this? I could go by boat but then i would need to travel to Denmark just to take that boat.
You could either bring a good laptop, or pack the computer down properly and send it as luggage, but I wouldn't go for that myself, as a computer is fairly fragile.
If I had the money to buy a ticket to Europe I wouldn't be going here :v:

Norway's a fantastic country.

Been looking around and found a solution.
I just need to remove the insides(i would leave the dvd reader and psu in) and put the case in my luggage. I would open the case and cover it with a plastic sheet followed by some clothes. That way the case won't get damaged to much when it drops. Then i would just have to put the parts in my carry on luggage(if you are going to do this then call you're airport to make sure that it is allowed).

There are many beautiful places in Europe, but my #1 destination is just other places in Norway, because it's an amazing, gorgeous country. :patriotism:
But if nature ain't your thing, and you're looking for urban culture for example, be my guest and enjoy Germany. It's a cool place. England too. And Spain if you're just there to relax.
So tempted to drive over there from the UK to do this!
i am from america put me in a crate and ship me there

Considering going, all i have to do is to find a good travel alternative.
125 days, 10 hours and 40 minutes remaining NOW!
They're really late with the website this year.
I was expecting it a month ago.
Thinking of going, though truth be told I'm skeptical, especially since this would be the first such event I'd be going to.
How will the seating be organized, is it free-form?
In any case, I think you can put me up with a good old blue dot.

Seating is organized on a webpage after you purchase your tickets.
To ensure that you get seated next to people you want to sit with, you can select one person as a "seater" (in Facepunch's case, I guess that would be me).
[editline]30th November 2011[/editline]
I made a seating chart:

Talk to me to reserve a seat.
[editline]30th November 2011[/editline]
Explaining the probably going one:
If you're not sure if you are going, you can still reserve a seat, and other people can stand in line.
If the probably going participant doesn't participate, the reserved user will get the seat, or the entire row will be moved a step up.

Aight, webside just popped up (it's temporary, so we still don't know this years tagline and design)

It sticks you in a random spot in the queue once the ticket sale starts.
Dunno when the sale starts.

What payment methods are there?
Bank Transaction would be the best option for me.

Bank transaction should be possible.
Anyone going needs to head on over to www.geekevents.org right now, sign up and get in line.
If you're not on the seating chart or the participant chart, but you're still going, either post here or PM me.

Keep in mind I can set you up on the seating chart as "probably going", but I need to get a definite response at least before the seating begins, preferably a week earlier.
It's getting closer pretty fast now.
