I think the drawing is theirs, they just "mirrored" it because the characters [I]are[/I] pretty much the same besides facial expression and clothing color.
For those who don't know, they're the Battle Subway masters in Pokemon Black and White. One is for the Single Battle train, the other is Double Battle I think.

The artist who wrote that sounds...silly, haha. I don't like traces myself, but at least use it for learning purposes. Don't resort to posting it online just because "you can't find a good pose". That makes it sound as if you were lazy to learn anything at all.

I don't understand why everyone's freaking out about pictures of other people's OC inside of video games. Whenever someone sees a picture of someone's OC inside of a video game, they freak out and banish the creator to the center of the earth, when simply put, the perosn who made it has an OC, likes a video game, and wanted to draw something representing him playing a video game.

OC inserts and fanfiction isn't inherently bad. But the probability of finding something actually worthwhile is so low that in our brain it becomes "bad unless proven otherwise".

Well the thing is that 85% of the OCs look ridiculous as hell and often look plain shitty. That's pretty much why just about everyone in this thread, who just so happen to have a higher standard in art or may even be ten times better at it than the majority of deviantart, is making fun of them. Sorry dude, that's just the way it goes around here.

Actually, my professor admitted to having used some amounts tracing on finished work before (when rushed), and said that other illustrators do so (although it should be no substitute for actual ability, and also tracing can be used to learn in many different methods). He's a great artist, his work is amazing, I've seen how well he draws from observation and imagination, and he said even he's traced on a couple of pieces before.
I'm not saying that tracing is right to do when somebody's paying you to do something or you're going to pass it off as you own work, but what I'm saying is that it does happen and plenty of people do it, so the person wasn't actually wrong in that aspect.
