Personally I just can't stand Preston's attitude to almost everything, but art and critics especially, which of course is focus of his comics. The actual quality of his comics to me is low, but that goes for so much other stuff as well, and there's certainly comics with worse art out there. His humor doesn't resonate with me, but as his comment section shows, it's a subjective thing.
However that attitude of his used to bother me a lot. But there's only so long I can stay angry at a person before I think "Ah, fuck it" and move on, so by now I'm mostly indifferent to the stuff he posts and hope somebody does a funny edit with it.

It's probably been filtered, I don't see anything that could look like a brush stroke in the piece, however without going into pasting them over one another, they certainly aren't exactly the same.

The grain may make it look filtered. But just look at the black areas, it isn't fully black and you can clearly see strokes which follows a natural angle from the hand. You can also see it change direction at some places.
And a lot of the shading is different.

Tracing =/= filtering.
Look at the hand, it's not placed correctly and the open areas near the trigger are black instead of white. Filters don't do that.
