Couldn't he make his caricature a little more honest though? He's balding somewhat and isn't as thin as he portrays himself to be.
I'm all up for hilarious exaggeration, but his character self looks almost nothing like him.
If I remember right one of his earliest comics had a much more accurate depiction of him.

find something that appeases a dumb but vast fanbase, then use that mass to advertise your comics that aren't published online (so people have to buy them), and go to conventions to sell copies of sketches and prints of shit you did ages ago. This picture really does say it all

In a way it's almost impressive how he's got a big fanbase [i]because[/i] he's lazy.
But it's mostly just sad.
From the comic's that I've read on his Deviantart, he makes the comic, and explains the "joke" and how the comic relates to his life in the description.
If you can't set the setting in the comic within the comic, it's going to lose it's humor when out of context. Like in that "Starving Artist" comic, the description says that one day, he sprayed Pam on a potato, because he didn't have butter. Nowhere in the comic would you get that if he didn't say so in the description.
