there's a stretch of road I have to pass through every day, 5 stoplights and a train crossing in an 8th of a mile, it's retarded for traffic but absolutely abandoned at night, despite being the center of a large town.

bring out my good camera and set up a shot with the shoe on a crosswalk, with the streetlights glowing (hopefully in a nice fog), allowing for some good solid colorful bokeh
use off-camera flash to light it but still allow a long exposure for background light to naturally work its way in

I should figure out when a train will pass at night, there's usually one by my office (a few miles north) going sloooowly north at 3:10 am, so I'll assume being at that mcdonalds around 2:55 would be good

I think it would be cool to take up mini challenges to do the things we hate and make it good
even if it's just if someone says "no one can make X look good" in the thread, you take it up as a challenge. Nothing big and official and fancy, but it'd be a nice side-thing for this thread just to do if someone feels they can.
like the ponies- detlef took something we see a 90% fail rate on in dA and whipped out a rather cool pic with minimum effort. Just imagine if you put some more time into doing something like that, if only to spite the world of dA and practice doing things you usually wouldn't stretch your talent for.

Not that I wouldn't be interested in seeing the results (or enjoy people basically doing what Kawiko does), but I imagine the overlap between people visiting this thread and people with the motivation and capability of pulling this off is small.
