I don't know if you've noticed, but Carl is supposed to be a mean dickwad that looks down upon everyone and anything. It's just that he's actually a good person for anyone that knows that you need to handle some criticism to improve so the jokes about him is ruined (not to mention, clichè and done in a bad way).
I don't understand why the spandex girls wouldn't be anywhere near his booth if he's going to be at the same con either, joke ruined. I get that he could be sitting in a different part of the place, but I don't think all of the visitors only hangs around at specific parts of the place and go nowhere else. But what do I know, I've never been to them.
