These characters are literally "broken" by odd offset proportions combined with bad positioning.

Spend some More time on a piece, for it seems a lot of your problem is caused by not spending enough time hashing out the very beginning of the piece.
This means, it is a very easy fix for you. Draw comparing wire frames to others work, you will easily fix your problems. Focusing on the "proper lines" that feels right to your own mind.
May I also suggest learn a heavier shading style?
It could improve all aspects of your work to include coloring and your regular cell shading like style.
Though honestly;
Painted skin on 3 balloons attached to a noodle?
Versus painted skin on 4 balloons with ring hair?
Is all I see when I look at this piece.
Improve or not, it is up to you.
